    Product Description

The Midtown Standard starts with premium tone woods, using Grade-A timbers beneath the transparent finish. A solid mahogany body is strategically chambered for optimum resonance and capped with a solid maple top with traditional f-holes. Its solid mahogany neck is carved to a fast, comfortable '60s-style profile that measures .800" at the 1st fret and .875" at the 12th.

The genuine rosewood fingerboard carries 22 medium-jumbo frets and is inlaid with traditional dot inlays that link the Midtown Standard to one of its predecessors, the Les Paul Standard, while cream binding enhances both fingerboard and body top. To best show off its great woods and luscious finishes, the Midtown Standard is built without a pickguard.

Gibson LE Midtown Standard Electric Guitar with Case Features

    • Semi-hollow Mahogany Body with Maple Top featuring Chambered F Holes
    • Mahogany Set-Neck with Bound Rosewood Fingerboard
    • Gibson Burstbucker 1 and 2 Pickups
    • Hardshell Case Included
By merging the best attributes of Gibson's legendary solid body and archtop electric guitars, the Midtown Standard and Midtown Custom of 2011 became instant hits with players of all stripes. This great guitar maintains its predecessors' trimmed-down and more player-friendly body size that still emulates the lines of Gibson's classic archtops, but which is built with the Midtown line's advanced chambered, solid-wood construction (rather than laminated top and back) to truly embody the optimum marriage of solid body and archtop. To take the Midtown Standard anywhere from raw vintage rock, blues and funk to contemporary jazz, Americana, or whatever you want to throw at it, Gibson USA loads the guitar with a pair of fat- and rich-sounding Burstbuckers 1 and 2 humbuckers and dresses it all in a hand-sprayed, high-gloss nitrocellulose finish.

Plugged in, the Midtown Standard reveals its true glory via a pair of Gibson's Burstbucker 1 and 2 pickups. These beloved pickups have a fatter, richer tone, and provide everything from thick grit and snarl for rock 'n' roll, to rich, creamy warmth for jazz, to singing blues tones with great snappy and funky tones in between. For optimum resonance and sustain, the Midtown Standard carries the classic pairing of a Tune-o-matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece with a PLEK-cut Corian nut up top.

Each guitar comes protected in a plush-lined Hardshell case and includes owner's manual and adjustment literature. Check out the Midtown Standard today and get ready to groove in Midtown style.

This is a very nice addition to a Gibson collection

What is your opinion of this product?
The Midtown has become one of my favorite guitars in the collection. I have a 2001 LP DC Standard and a 2014 LP Traditional in my Gibson electric collection and this guitar I quickly became a favorite due to versatility and playability. Feels great and sounds great. Most that are unaware of the Midtown are shocked at the price when I hand it to them. Nice to see this model back at AMS. $1499 is a no-brainer if you are looking for great tone and looks from Gibson.

    Great guitar, great price
What is your opinion of this product?
First of all, the picture I am looking at is not the same as described. The difference , the picture shows nylon tuning keys and robo tuners. the description says chrome Grover. Mine has Grover, not robo tuners. I would not have purchased it if it had robo tuners.. Saved a bundle on "scratch and dent" with no discernible marks. Plays great, sounds great, looks great. Good action, intonation spot on. Glad I could get a Gibson that I could afford.

    Great guitar!
What is your opinion of this product?
This guitar was ready to play right out of the box. I like the variety of tones you can get from it and it plays well. It came with nines for strings, so I put some elevens on it, however, string size is strictly a matter of preferrence. This is the best guitar I've ever owned.

    Absolutely love this guitar!
What is your opinion of this product?
I've been a player for over 50 years and owned a ton of guitars through the years, and this is one of the sweetest, easiest playing guitars I've ever owned. I own a Deluxe Tele and a Deluxe Strat and this Gibson ranks right up there with both of those. Upon it's arrival, some very minor tweaking, and I'm off and rocking! It plays like butter and has a ton of tonal variations to suit any musician's taste. And the beauty of this guitar is mind boggling, I bought the Antique Sunburst, one I would be proud to take on any stage. And the deluxe hardshell case is gorgeous as well. So in my opinion, on a scale of 1-10 I give it an 11! Buy yourself one of won't be sorry!
