Dressed in high-end appointments like our hand-wired Memphis Tone Circuit Premiere (MTC Premiere) control assembly, the all new Memphis Historic Spec II (MHS II) humbucking pickups, and an ABR-1 bridge with titanium saddles, this just might be the best one yet. My new favorite guitar
Product Rating

Product Review

I was a little skeptical about spending this much on a guitar on line, but with AMS's return policy I decided to go for it. I was not disappointed. The guitar plays like dream. It only required a minor truss rod adjustment and I was good to go. My biggest concern about buying sight on seen was the quality of the finish. It proved to be very acceptable. Overall I am rating the guitar 5 stars, as well as 5 stars for AMS for their excellent service.

Great guitar

Product Review

I love this guitar! Not only is the figured maple beautiful, with its smaller-than-a-335, lightweight, semi-hollow body it's easy to hold and play. The MHS II pickups sound great. And they sweated the details on this model: quarter-sawn mahogany neck, "thermally engineered" chambered maple center block and Adirondack Spruce braces. Thermally engineered 'ages' the wood to give just that more vintage tone. I like the small block inlays very much too, compared to the big blocks on some Gibsons. In short, I love everything about this guitar!

Finally I have found my favorite guitar!

Product Review

After trying and returning 3 Korean-made guitars, I have found an electric guitar that isn't too heavy; sounds and plays great. Sized like a Les Paul, but light like a hollow body. Made in Memphis, Tennessee. Thank you, Gibson and American Musical Supply.

Better than expected

Product Review

Well setup out of the box. The finish on the frets isn't the best so it will go into the shop to have the setup fine-tuned and the frets properly polished. Overall it's much better than many Gibsons I've seen in terms of the quality of the details, and the flame and finish is spectacular. The pickups are very different sounding from anything else I have in my arsenal, but I really like them for that reason. It's another unique flavor in the mix and a very beautiful one at that! Gibson still won't win any awards on the details, and we have every right to expect a lot based on their prices. That said, this one meets the minimum requirement for the money and exceeds it. Doesn't quite get to perfection but pretty close. Much better than a lot of what I've seen in the recent past.

Vintage Vibe

Product Review

Beautiful...I considered just about every guitar on the market before purchasing the ES-339. First time I have bought a guitar online...thanks,AMS for the quick delivery.

As good as it gets, the neck could be wider for fingerstyle stuff.

Very nice, could weigh a bit less

sounds like a Gibson

As a dent & scratch item the flaw was very minor...very subtle for a figured top ..which I dint mind.

if there is a better value let me know.

the nut was cut higher than I would have liked..this makes it a challenge to pull off & fret chords on the first couple frets..pretty good up the neck which is also easy to adjust.

She's A Beauty!

Your general opinion of this product.

What a great guitar! Gibson really did nice work in making this beauty. The sound is amazing and it sustains FOREVER!! If I were to pick on anything I would say that Gibson Memphis is a little sloppy in their delivery to end user. There were some scratches and the figuring on the Tri-Burst I received is noticeable but not intense. I found this on 2 different ones in this color. The weird thing is when you look into the F holes you can see intensely figured / flamed wood? What's up with that? That's why I gave only 4 stars on finish, and that is all Memphis quality control. The guys at AMS were great to work with. A++

Definitely. So far so good. If it is as good as my 3 other Les Pauls, I know I will be totally satisfied.

Neck is awesome, but I like the chunky feel. Not as chunky as my '59 re-issue LP, but just feels great in your hands and a perfect weight & size for me. I love it.

Neck pick up is super creamy and the clean tones are just to die for. I love the '57's it gives you gritty, nasty rock tones when playing dirty, bright, creamy and rich when clean. As I said in general comments... IT SUSTAINS FOREVER!!

Action was very high, but a few minutes in and it was perfect to my liking. Needs a truss rod adjustment too, and I'll get that done down the road soon. Having too much fun playing now.

Look, colors are awesome. Looked like someone got a little too aggressive with the buffing wheel at the factory, I prefer to put my own scratches on my guitars, but was enough to bug me that it would be sent out that way. A lot of wood shavings and warehouse junk in 2 guitars/cases. Very odd

Will have to speak to that later. So far, don't want to put her down.

Love this guitar

This is the best built Gibson that I own. ///////stayed up all night playing

only had less than one day, stood up so far.

Your general opinion of this product.

I love this guitar, I own a LP,SG and epi 339 and this guitar leaves them all in the rack.

The guitar has a fast feel and all the controls are easy to adjust while playing.

the tone is bright and clear.

IT IS darker than its picture took some getting used to, now really like the color.

The action needed to be lowered just a little to suite my taste.
