    Product Description

The Les Paul Studio has been a popular choice of hard-working guitarists everywhere ever since its introduction in 1983. The 2016 Les Paul Studio Traditional blends timeless tonewoods and components with improved comfort, powerful humbucking pickups with built-in coil-splitting switching for the added versatility of single-coil tones, and the classic looks that define it as a genuine Gibson Les Paul.

Gibson 2016 Les Paul Studio Traditional Features

    • Mahogany body with Solid Carved Maple top
    • Mahogany neck with slim, fast ’60s-style profile
    • Coil-tapped 490R and 498T humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge
    • Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece
    • Chrome Hardware and traditional manual Tuners
The Les Paul Studio is tone-assured right from the start, thanks to a foundation of the traditional tonewoods that helped to make the Les Paul Standard legendary when it first arrived six decades ago. A carved solid maple top lends bite and articulation to the sound, while a select mahogany back—treated with Gibson’s new modern weight relief pattern to increase playing comfort and enhance resonance—contributes superb warmth and depth. A solid, quarter-sawn mahogany neck is glued in and carved in the fast 60s SlimTaper profile, and topped with a Rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and traditional trapezoid inlays. In keeping with the stripped-down Studio ethos, the body and fingerboard are left unbound, but the retains elegant touches in its pickguard, and hot-stamped truss-rod cover. Classic Gibson construction ensures optimum playability, too, along with traditional specs like a 24-3/4 inch scale length, a 1 11/16 inch width across the Graph Tech nut, and a 12-inch fingerboard radius for smooth, easy bending.

A pair of Gibson USA’s Modern Classics  humbucking pickups prime the Les Paul Studio for unparalleled tonal versatility. Both are made in the image of the legendary PAF humbucker, with Alnico magnets and 42-AWG wire, but adapted for the demands of contemporary players. A 490R in the neck position offers vintage warmth and throaty blues tones, while a hotter 498T in the bridge belts out all the scorch, sizzle and sustain you require. Furthermore, both are wired for coil splitting, with individual push-pull tone-control switching to tap authentic single-coil tones, which are even wired for hum cancelling in the middle position. The innovative pairing of a Tune-o-Matic bridge and Stopbar tailpiece ensure solid sustain and precise intonation, while a set of high-quality Grover tuners ensure smooth, accurate tuning.

Each guitar includes a black Gibson hardshell case, owner’s manual, and truss-rod wrench, and comes covered by Gibson USA’s Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service.

What is your opinion of this product?
I bought this guitar with the thoughts I'd have to gut it and set it up being it's a lower line of gibson Les Paul. I owned 3 traditionals prior to ordering. I pulled this studio out of its box and it's absolutely beautiful. I didn't even have to tune it it stayed in tune during shipping ! It's tone look and action are second to none!!

    Work to be done.
What is your opinion of this product?
I'll keep this short but accurate. Order on a Wednesday night and received it on the following Tuesday, FedEx tracking sucks but that's another story. Package was good, double boxed. I open after 2hours. I should have let it set overnight to climatize. The Guitar is Alpine White and in a Black case with White fur, Looks stunning. Now the Cons, Rough fret ends(need to be dressed), No relief in the neck, I put in about .008 at 9th fret, Bridge and Tail piece cranked way high, Bridge pickup crank way high, 3 way toggle switch is of low quality, Slack in both Volume pots(turns a few mm before it adjusts) not CTS pots. (I will replace one day), Both pickup rings bowed out, screwed in to tight and butt's up against the pick guard, Tail piece studs screwed into the body to far (does not affected the adjustment though). Now the Pro's, after a (on going) set up, the Guitar sounds Great, kind of a even open sound, and with overdrive it sounds killer. The coil splitting is OK.

What is your opinion of this product?
I've owned a custom Gibson Les Paul and loved it. Due to financial struggles I had to part ways with it. Needless to say, I wasn't expecting the quality or sound to even come close but it does. This guitar is phenomenal, can't put it down. It comes with 10-46 gauge strings, I prefer 9-42. Quick change and all good.

    100 percent Gibson Les Paul
What is your opinion of this product?
It looks, feels, sounds like a Les Paul should at a reasonable price. Neck has a nice full feel but not to thick. Pickups give the expected Gibson vibe with the addition of the coil taps. Setup out of the case was excellent! Workmanship is top notch also. If you want a "real" Les Paul and don't want to shell out the cash for a Standard or Custom, here ya go!!! Thanks Gibson and AMS!!
