Product Description

Producing amazing tones and a fast neck for the ultimate playing experience, the Les Paul VooDoo has a unique look with plenty of sustain and a touch of Black Magic. The Gibson classic has been given a conjure treatment: swamp ash body (for lighter weight), Richlite fingerboard with acrylic red dot inlays, Voodoo Rhythm Double Slug and Voodoo Lead Double Slug pickups, and black chrome hardware. The finish is especially distinctive. The guitar features a JuJu finish that is then rubbed with a black filler that catches in the grooves of the ash wood grain, and finally sealed with a satin-lacquer finish coat.

Amazing Instrument

Product Review

I was not ever really a fan of Les Paul styled guitars, always geared more towards super strats as a metal musician. This guitar caught my eyes as soon as I saw it however. To me just looked a lot cleaner not having the pick guard. The colors and finish on this thing are amazing. The sound and playability are excellent. You have great clean tones and really great distorted tones. Not muddy at all to me as some other reviews have stated. I would highly recommend this instrument to anyone that plays anything from blues to metal. You will not be disappointed. The black and red. snakeskin hardshell case is rad too.

What does a five-star guitar mean? Let me explain

Product Review

A five-star guitar does not meant he most expensive guitar available. I have had some truly disappointing experiences with $3,500 Ibanez customs and $2,000 strats. Let me tell you something - IF this guitar is still available, do yourself a favor and buy it. Where can I start? The features that stand out are a really fast neck, EXCELLENT intonation, gorgeous sounding pickups (from blues to jazz to metal to shred), and jaw-dropping beauty. The quality of this piece is just so high. I like the way the neck sits in my hand. I have searched...for about 20 years...for this guitar. It is not my first les paul, but it's my first Gibson les paul. I love, love how fast the neck is. I love the rolled and capped fret edges. I love the design and color. It's beautiful and sinister at once. ANYone who has seen it, their jaws have dropped. And it smells sooo good. I love the baby picture of it's "birth" that Gibson put in the guitar case. Signed by the Gibson tech!! I have had the guitar for about a week and I have to tell you, I am excited to play it. I own about 15 guitars and this is the "ONE". It met my expectations for the price. There was a little issue with the nut that AMS took care of. It's not worth docking any stars on the review. The guitar came out of the box set up and intonated perfectly. Aside from the nut issue (which does NOT affect playability or intonation), I get the feeling that was crafted by care by Gibson in the USA. I think this price is very good. It could go for about $2,000, I think, and that would be fair. Especially in today's market. The tones are amazing. I like everything from BB King to Gary Moore to Peter Green to Joe Bonamassa to Metallica, Yngvie and Joe Stump. Yup...this will do it all. You could even play jazz. Hey, good pups are good pups. End of story. I love the way it sits on the lap while played. The matte finish looks striking, just beautiful, and it does NOT slip out of the my lap. It's a little lighter than most les pauls but the good news is, it doesn't have that "falling neck" "heavy neck" thing that my custom shop epi les paul has. I have never left a review like this for a guitar before. Trust me on this. AND the payment plan!!! Heck yes!!! Thank you AMS!~!! And thank you John and Dave for making the nut issue right. You have a lifelong loyal customer. Now, I have to wait like 6 more hours till I can play it again... (Just in case you were wondering, this isn't just the "honeymoon" period. I ordered a super strat from a competitor that came in the day after this guitar, and it's 'meh' at best. If I were the kind of person to gush just because a guitar is new, I would be leaving awesome reviews for the strat too, and I'm not ...this voodoo juju is THE ONE FOR ME!...and hopefully you, too!)

Great guitar!

Product Review

I got this one about a month ago and I still love everything about it. It is a bright sounding guitar which I prefer since you can warm things up with the tone knobs. Its not a super light guitar but its not a boat anchor either. It weighs about the same as my Epiphone Rainbow LP (unsure about the exact weight). I was skeptical on buying an actual Gibson due to past experiences but it looks like they may have gotten their act together quality wise. Overall a great guitar and is currently my #1 (out of 16).

Love it

Product Review

First off the stock picture does absolutely no justice. It looks amazing! in low light it looks very dark almost black as you get into the light that dark blood red really pops. For Gibson it's very unique, very mean looking. The neck is fast and the finish on the back of it is amazing looking as well. The frets are rolled and tucked very well. Bridge pic up is pretty high gain for the most part, sounds great, it can work for a wide range of music styles. Bridge pic up is very smooth and in my opinion it to has got a fair amount of gain, sounds great clean. Honestly an all around great guitar i have a really hard time putting it down and the snake skin case is a bonus, it really is a head turner. I highly recommend it.

New number 1!

Product Review

The ash body bring this classic stule some new character. It is light yet hefty feeling. Plays extremely well, looks beautiful, and is LOUD! My only complaint is woth the pickups. They sound good but I prefer something a little warmer and articulate with a vintage feel.
