    Product Description

Gibson has combined their expert craftsmanship, remarkable tonewoods and a short scale design that is big on sound in the J15! This all new instrument features a Spruce top that is matched with Walnut back and sides. Walnut imparts a tone that many players describe as a blend of rosewood’s clarity and mahogany’s ‘woodiness’. The short scale design of the J15 offers great playability for any player.

    Superior Quality, Reasonably Affordable
    Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
Though my electric guitar stable is rather impressive, I’ve been admittedly negligent in the acoustic department. When it was time for me to make that plunge, I knew it had to be of superior quality, yet reasonably affordable, too. Enter the Gibson J15. Based on Gibson’s classic J45 model, the J15 is touted as “an affordable” alternative. Well, if you think $1,500 is affordable, then yes. Thankfully American Music Supply has great monthly payment options that make it affordable to us working class heroes. Every penny and then some was put into this American made, handcrafted classic. The only “corners cut” to keep the price lower than her big sister, the J45, are easy fix, upgrades; plastic bridge pins, Tusq nut and bridge saddle. The rest is top of the line. The solid walnut back and sides, as well as the walnut fretboard are not so much a cost saver as an alternative. After all, mahogany and rosewood are not that much more expensive than walnut. At least with the particular model I chose, the walnut wood grain is THE most beautiful of all the guitars I own, hands down. More important than her good looks is the way she sings. Crisp, sparkling highs, throaty deep growls, they’re all here. Mine has a lovely lingering sustain which will only improve over time. She’s just a baby, having been built in January of this year (2017), after all. Plugged in through a few different amps I own, I really enjoy the sound and response I get. Nothing complicated here; just a volume knob hidden in the sound hole. You can simply adjust your EQ on which ever amp you’re using. I personally like the simplicity of this set up. A few “extras” that you’ll get which are not mentioned are: a second package of Gibson strings, a very cool leather keychain fob, a Gibson pick and a Gibson Acoustic sticker (pretty cool since none of my Gibson electrics came with any stickers). The word will be getting out on this model and you can be assured the prices will go up as the demand for this future classic does the same. It’s exciting to be one of the first owners of a model in it’s first year of production that I’m sure will become a classic and a standard among revered guitarist worldwide. If you’re on the fence, hop on over and get one now! You should have no regrets.

    I love her...
What is your opinion of this product?
Like a romance novel it was love at first sight.... Her light brown neck with mother of pearl freckles enticed me to a great extend. Then her sloping shoulder leading to a captivated middle and a bottom end that will leave you mesmerized. Not to mention her shapely back side oozing beauty with every line. And the way she sing drew me in like a trance. I cannot keep my hands off of her. I am in love and her name is Gibson J-15 my all American girl....

Entry level Gibson guitar that's far from entry level!
What is your opinion of this product?
Finding an American made solid wood guitar for under $1500 should be all but impossible except for Gibson's outstanding J-15. The J-15 is the exact same build as the venerable J-45, except it is made with all North American hardwoods, walnut, maple and spruce. Clean resonant bass, clear defined mids and ringing bright highs make this guitar hard to put down. This will be your favorite guitar. And good American Musical Service... Nice people in customer service, very professional. So happy that I bought my J-15 from AMS!

    The best sounding guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
The tone woods in this solid wood guitar make a big difference in the sound of this guitar. It sounds warmer then my Epiphone acoustic. I highly recommend this guitar.

Much better than expected! ( 5+ stars)
What is your opinion of this product?
Bought this guitar to have something less expensive to take out to open mics, etc. to save wear and tear on my J-45TV. I didn't count on liking the J-15 at least as well. The Walnut just gives this guitar such a sweet mid-range like I've never experienced. The added mid-range grunt and the ease of playability of the smaller profile Maple neck make this guitar something you just can't put down! Going on 5 months of ownership and it just keeps getting better. Make no mistake, this is a Gibson in spades with that unmistakable J-45 thud and mid/high end articulation found only on the best J-45s, but with some added lower mid-range grunt, thanks to the Walnut! And this one rings like a bell! "LOVE" this guitar!
