    Product Description

Popular with hard-gigging guitarists, the SG Faded 2016 T combines tonewood and playability for a great instrument in the T (Traditional) Series. Wrap your hand around the unique thin-to-thick neck carve of the SG Special T—with a profile that starts out slim at the lower frets and becomes increasingly chunky as you slide toward the joint—and you’re rocketed straight back to an age of fierce, fast soloing.

Like the most revered vintage SGs, the SG Faded 2016 T starts with a solid mahogany body. This classic tonewood offers superb depth and balance, and is extremely light for optimum playing comfort. Carved to the traditional asymmetrical double-cutaway shape, the SG also offers outstanding upper-fret access. Like many great Gibsons, the neck is made from maple and carved to a profile unique to the era, which measures .800” deep at the 1st fret and increases to .963” at the 12th, with a volute behind the nut to both strengthen the headstock joint and enhance neck resonance. A rosewood fingerboard carries small block inlays, and terminates in a Graph Tech nut with a width of 1-11/16”. The SG Faded 2016 T keeps it all down to basics—and saves you money—by omitting fingerboard binding.

To help the SG Faded 2016 T rock with unparalleled character and articulation, Gibson USA loads it with a pair of humbuckers. These pickups are calibrated for balanced output between the neck and bridge positions, yielding everything from singing bluesy neck tones to crunchy and wailing leads. They are routed through the traditional four-knob and three-way switch wiring set up, and partnered with a Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for optimum sustain and precise intonation. A set of traditional tuners rounds out the package.

    Fantastic Guitar

What is your opinion of this product?
I have wanted this Guitar for a very long time. A finally the time and money fell in place and I was able to grab one it looks great sounds fantastic and is easy to play. my only concern is the neck appears longer than it really is due to the double cutaway and this will take be some time to get used to but that is only going to take a few hours of playing time to get used to. I plugged it into my Marshall half stack last afternoon turned it up to 5 and played it thru all 4 channels and it never missed a beat sounded great on the clean cannel and got better as I changed thru the other 3 this Guitar will be in my collection until the Good Lord takes me and I'm sure my Son will love it as much as I do. I would recommend this Guitar to anyone for the price it just can't be beat

    Great Guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
Great guitar, looks beautiful, neck feels great-- thin & fast, but not anemic. Bridge pick-up is very trebley, so I'm finally learning to use the tone knob (after 20 years), which allows me to get quite a variety of very useable tones from the stock pick-ups. I'm very happy with this purchase and kind of blue when I have to put the guitar down for the night.
