Product Description

A pure dreadnought acoustic with powerful projection, the D140 will satisfy the ears of heavy strumming, fingerpicking and everything in between! A solid Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides give the D-140 an articulate sound with a bump in the midrange. Other features include an Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, bone nut and saddle, and a mother-of-pearl rosette.

This model also has a 1 3/4 inch nut width on a vintage shaped Guild neck, iconic Chesterfield headstock emblem reminiscent of 1960s Guilds, period-correct tortoiseshell pickguard, and Guild’s new lightweight polyfoam case.

What is your opinion of this product?
Was thinking a long while about the Yamaha ta series, of Fenders new California Redondo. Have the Guild Aristocrat M-75 and have always been impressed with the Quality Guild brings to the table. Especially for the amount of money. Anyway, remembering a friend of mines Guild acoustic, and the great sounds from it, I decided to give the Westerly D140 a shot. As soon as I opened the case the quality of workmanship floored me. Beautiful guitar visually. Don't know why, but first tune that came to mind to try on her was Neil Youngs " Old Man". Right there. Every nuance. Next, ELP's "From The Beginning ". Perfect. The guitars sound is big, and the sustain long. The necks relief came in at .006". With a slight adjustment, brought her down to .003". Lost a little volume, but gained more dynamics and feel. The strings that come with the D140 are good d'darios.12-53. Coated. They sound big. Replaced with my favorite Curt Magnan 12-53 phosphors and am in 7th heaven. My songwriting partner was very happy with this guitar as well, as it is hard to get it back when he wants to figure out passages he is working on. Never had that problem with my othe guitars before! If you're in the market for a really well made and wonderful sounding dreadnaught...do yerself a favor and try this one. Been playing for over 50 years now and like what this guitar does. Even comes with songs built in for no extra cash!

Absolutely Phenomenal!
What is your opinion of this product?
As soon as you open the box, you know you have something special. I have been playing Breedlove and Martins for the past 10 years or so. My Martin was stepped on and snapped the neck. I needed something louder and more resonant than my Breedlove for doing some video recording, but I didn't have $2500 laying around. At this, or any price point, this guitar blows away the competition. Big. Bold. Resonant. But gentle enough for my fingerpicking style. Just amazing

This instrument positively sings.
What is your opinion of this product?
I’ve owned all the big brands and this baby has all the bells and whistles for a quarter the cost of a domestic build. She truly appears flawless with a voice that I can imagine will only grow more full with age.

Amazing guitar. Well worth the price.
What is your opinion of this product?
It's an amazing guitar. I've owned multi thousand dollar Gibsons and this eight hundred dollar Guild can compete. I plan on having this guitar for the rest of my life.
