    Product Description

The M615 open pore mandolin is big in terms of musically possibility. The great sounding mahogany top plus the 23-fret rosewood fingerboard gives you room to roam. And the open pore natural finish is deliberately minimal, allowing this instrument to breath with sound.

Ibanez, the mandolin leader, designed the M615 to deliver a big sound. This A-style with single soundhole is considered to be the most sonically formidable of mando designs. And those luthiers at Ibanez know how to bring out the best in a mahogany top, back and sides instrument.

Ask anyone who’s picked one up and played it: The lively, dynamic, M615OPN can’t be touched by any other mandolin in its class.

What is your opinion of this product?
I am new to Mando, but play guitar/Bass semi-professionally.I had to pay for a real good setup out of the box this thing needed help. The tuners were super stiff and actually broke within a few days...really poor quality. The light construction made the instrument too stressed with 11 gauge strings so use tens. I had to put 100 bucks in tuners strings and setup to get it right but it smokes on the F-Hole models in its price range. It is an awesome and unique starter mandolin with a big sound I recommend it but you will have to put a few more bucks to get it dialed in but will be much better than the 200 or 300 dollar models if set up properly.
