Product Description

The SIX6DFM features a graceful 3-D-shape Mahogany body with stunning Flamed Maple top, and Ibanez's cutting-edge 3pc Maple/ Bubinga Nitro Wizard neck for greater speed and stability than ever. An Ebony fretboard features quick response and great articulation with today’s down-tuning. The reliable Gibraltar Standard II bridge, with its trusty locking system, is ready to soar, aptly handling every swoop, shimmy, and dive and then returning to earth solidly in tune. Gotoh locking machine heads help provide superior tuning stability and expedite string changes.

Ibanez's Iron Label SIX6DFM solid body electric guitar takes the speed and performance of their S series to a whole new level of intensity. It’s light enough to amaze in terms of comfort, yet heavy enough to provide the tone and sustain that the S series is known for.

Developed in collaboration with Ibanez—DiMarzio, Fusion Edge pickups have been engineered to produce a powerful, distinctive tone with a crisp, cutting, high end, and a tight, compressed bottom end, minus any muddy mid-range. An added coil-tap feature, easily accessible through a conveniently located on/off mini switch, provides even greater tonal options.

As the legion of converts to the “made-for-metal” Iron Label series keeps growing, Ibanez continues to tap the seismic underworld for inspiration. Working their famous S Series body style from the “chassis” up, Ibanez speaks to the deft skills of the sinuous shredder with the SIX6DFM.

The SIX6DFM is yet another reason why the Ibanez Iron Label series is winning over new die-hard converts every day.

Great guitar, but...

Product Review

The volume knob placement will drive you insane. You can't effectively play without your hand rubbing up against it and changing your volume. Other than this issue, it sounds great. But what good is a great sounding guitar if you can't play it? I contacted Ibanez to see if there is a smaller knob, but no response yet. If you play heavy progressive metal and you're all over the fretboard and constantly changing positions with your picking hand, this guitar will drive you insane.

Loving this guitar!

Product Review

This guitar is very well made, very thin and comfy neck, the pickups sounds great, the guitar is super lightweight and the ebony fretboard and locking tuners are personal favorite specs of mine. It would be nice to have inlay dots but if i feel i really need them i can just get stickers. All in all a wonderful metal axe that is a real pleasure to play 10/10

So much better than what was expected

Product Review

You know how you look up videos of guitars you want on youtube to see how they sound, and sometimes are really disappointed? Hell, that could even make or break your decision on even buying it. I am so glad i did not let that deter me from trying out this gorgeous piece of wood. Everything i saw had kind of a muddy sound to it but i simply had to see for myself. I was worried about it not having a tone knob, i was worried that the pick ups are specially designed for thus specific brand, thinking they would sound generic. This is the best guitar i have ever heard come out of my amp. I play thrash metal, im playing out of a peavey 3120 head and beringer cab. This guitar has so much crunch, without sacrificing the integrity of the notes being played. The finish is beautiful, more so in person. It is by far the lightest guitar i have ever held, yet the sustain is amazing. Had to lower the action just a tiny bit but that is to be expected. The coil tap brings quite a twang almost summoning a tele sound. The cleans are bright and very pronounced. Playing it clean is where the coil tap really shines. Very clear on the higher strings, but as soon as you hit any note on the low e the fattness is unreal. Ebony fretboard, cannot go wrong. Very fast neck very comfortable. Stays in tune very nicely. I will MOST DEFINITELY be buying another from the iron label series.
