Product Description

Discover the sonic realm where guitar intersects with bass! Although some may call it a ‘baritone guitar’, the SRC6 Crossover is designed to be tuned lower, one octave below a standard guitar. Its 30-inch scale neck makes this possible and allows you to explore sonic territories you may have never experienced as well as straight ahead bass lines, jazz harmony explorations, powerful palm muted madness and beyond.

Ibanez crafts the Crossover with a 5-piece SRC Jabota/Bubinga neck that guarantees stability. A Rosewood fingerboard, appointed with Abalone inlays, and medium frets is expertly treated to give your chording hand the smoothest ride possible. EMG 35HZ pickups are designed to deliver both clarity and ‘throb.’

Very odd but cool guitar
Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
This is a very odd instrument. Is not a guitar and it’s not a bass it’s somewhere in between. I’ve played guitar and bass for almost 30 years. I’ve had this guitar for about 2 weeks and I play it everyday and I’m just now starting to get use to it. If you’re use to playing a baritone guitar then you probably will be more comfortable with it a lot sooner. I like it. You can get bass and guitar tones from it. It is very versatile. The eq works very well. The guitar itself is also odd. It weighs nothing and the body is quite small. Smaller than most electric guitars again odd to me but I’m getting use to it. I did buy the blemish model which I was told by an AMS agent that the blemish models usually only have a very small scratch or a smear in the finish but mine came with a really nice 3 inch scratch on the front all the way to the wood. Looks like a box cutter was used on it. But nevertheless I like it and do recommend it to others.

Awesomeness
What is your opinion of this product?
This thing is awesome, really high quality all around. The neck is really comfortable (little round for me but still nice), weight-wise it's lighter than you may think considering it's mahogany. The finish is a bit thin and dents easy but to me, the dents give this type of finish character. Looks kinda vintagey and worn out, in a good way. Tuning machines are incredible, they hold tune like it's nobody's business. The fretwork could have been better, had lots of sharp edges. But it took me all of 5 minutes to fix that. The bridge is extremely nice, it's from Tight End and is fully adjustable and is easily the nicest thing on this guitar. The pre-amp is fantastic, very precise and honestly, it needs to be considering the nature of the instrument. As for the pickups, they're EMG Hz bass pickups. My opinion here is a bit torn. I run this as a baritone guitar more often than a bass (I tune to F# Standard) and these pickups can get real muddy even in this guitar's standard tuning when playing chords and adding gain for metal like I do.but they can be cleaned up rather well using that amazing pre-amp and your amp's EQ. But when tuning that low even then they can be a bit muddy with gain but that being said, they sound beautiful clean. They give it a piano-like tone and I love that. Overall it is so worth the buy if you're looking for something different to add to your arsenal, it is one great guitar.
