The best American made guitar on the market
The guitar is unbelievable in every way shape and form. U.S.A Jackson guitars are always this way though. The most reliable and dependable instruments you can buy. If you're a serious player then this or any other U.S.A Jackson is for you.
I have never had a problem with any of mine and I own four of them.
Your general opinion of this product.
There are a few things that are printed wrong on the A.M.S website. First of all this guitar DOES NOT have jumbo frets. All U.S.A KV2 guitars come with medium frets unless you order from the custom shop. The KV2 also is the last Jackson to come with the "SPEEDNECK" PROFILE. It's also a compound radius neck which makes soloing super easy. It also has a LIFETIME WARRANTY from Jackson as long as you're the original owner it's covered for LIFE! All in all I love these guitars more than any other. I have played and owned many more expensive guitars from Gibson,Ibanez and ESP and none of them can come close in looks, sound, playability, quality, and most importantly tone.
The axe feels great in every way not too light and not too heavy. The neck feels like God himself shaped it. The finishing job on the frets is the best I have ever seen. The piece of ebony they used on the fretboard is the darkest and tightest grained I have ever seen on any guitar. The quality of the wood is no surprise to me though because Mike Shannon the Master Luthier at Jackson rejects almost ninety percent of the wood that's used on the most expensive Fender guitars. That means your two thousand dollar strat is built from wood that isn't good enough to build a Jackson. Sorry Fender guys!!! : )
The tone of the instrument is incredible. It has more sustain than you can possibly imagine. You can play anything on this guitar if you adjust the amplifier properly. It can go from super hard metal to jazz to blues to fusion to anything. Super versatile guitar!
The paint job is incredible! Most people don't know this but Jackson paints all of their U.S.A Models with car paint!!! This is why on your care tag it says to clean the guitar with automotive wax "non abrasive obviously." If you take care of this guitar the finish will last forever and always be gorgeous!
The standard action and set up on the U.S.A SELECT models is 0.5 millimeter. Every time i purchased a new KV2 i always measured the action and EVERY TIME it was a perfect 0.5 millimeter.

Nice Guitar
Very well made.
Only had this for a few weeks but I'm sure will last forever.
Your general opinion of this product.
I was surprised to find there were no strap pins installed on the guitar out of the box. Tags in the case were signed off on by quality control but evidently missed this. AMS not very helpful. Had to go to Guitar Center to have the strap button holes drilled and installed.
Plays great after a pro set up.
Seymour Duncans sound great
Finish is perfect
Needed set up.

This guitar is made for Shredders!!!
mine are very well made, they have never broke down on me for any reason, I give the quality an 11 out of 10..but just like a car if you want it to run flawlessly you have to maintain your guitars, I dont care what your playing, it must be maintained
they have way stood the test of time, I beat the shit out of them 5 nights a week and all my personal practice, Ive never replaced anything but a volume pot but only after like 5 years and a couple hundred shows and a few hundred band practics
Your general opinion of this product.
I own 4 of these guitars and the King V is all I play, I play professionally and have been playing Jacson for 20 years, the king v for the past 8 years, My V's go to band practice and play live shows every week and overall I wouldnt trust any other guitar but my King V's
The feel is just right, not too heavy, not too light, well balanced, very fast neck..ok, here is my only dislike, I wish they would move the toggle switch and put it where they put it on the USA made Randy Rhoads and make it a 3 way instead of a 5 way.!
They have great tone for that Metal sound, I can get a great fat chunky Metal sound and killer harmonics, the pick ups are hot,
Flawless, Beautiful.!!!
The Action was great on all of them out of the box but like 100% of any guitar ive ever owned I took it to my setup guy and had him set them up, I like them setup a certain way

Trust me, I have 3 of these ---> Great guitars!! Period!
These are well made guitars albeit more expensive then others, but worth it. The Jackson USA line does NOT make a bad guitar. The last reviewer may need to have his professionally setup, especially if he wants very low action. Remember, shipping a guitar may cause you to have to adjust the neck as well. Another reviewer mention gain issues. Gain does NOT come from the guitar itself therefor not a reflection of the instrument. It comes from the pickups. I have the same stock Pickups and NO gain issues.
Almost a year, and all 3 still play great
Your general opinion of this product.
High Quality you would expect from Jackson I have 2 KV2s and 1 KV2T. My only minor criticism is that they call the frets on the KV2 jumbo but they are not as big as the frets on the earlier Jacksons
Thin wide compound neck that plays fast when you want to, very consistent with Jackson guitars. Good balance for a V guitar
Good tone for a V as it is a Neck though. Obviously not quite as fat as a Les Paul but fat enough.
I have the "ghost Flames", "Nebula" and "Silver Dragon". All are pro finishes and look great.
Very good, but I adjust mine a bit more to my liking. Most guitars are NOT going to be perfectly setup out of the box, regardless of the price. Thinking they are is an amateur’s misconception. - sorry

Great Guitar, Crappy Tone !!!
Well Built, Solid as a rock, no flaws.
Have played it serveral times, always stays in tune.
Your general opinion of this product.
Great Guitar but over priced big time.
Neck is great, best thing about the guitar. I had to get some frets worked on due to some being a bit high and I like low action.
Tone is Flat, I mean Flat. I even replaced the TB-4 with and SH-6 and still doesnt have the gain as my other 6 guitars. I cant figure it out. Was very dissappointed in the tone. Sustain lags big time. Going to try a set of Seymour Duncan Blackouts.
Paint job is great, thick and shiny.
It was ok, but I like it low for shredding. Had to have the neck worked on such as fret hight.

Im not sure if i just got very unlucky, or if jackson just doesnt care anymore. but the first guitar i recieved had an uneven fret which caused absolutely no sound to come out of one fret. And the second guitar i received after i returned the first one, had super high action, when i attempted to lower the action, it had an excessive amount of fret buzz, and fretted out on big bends VERY dissapointing for a jackson usa select series.
i havnt had it long enough to tell, and wont seeing as i am sending it back on a 3rd attempt to get a guitar worth anything. 3rd times a charm hopefully.
Your general opinion of this product.
very dissapointing.
it would feel great, if it wasnt for all the mess ups on jacksons part.
pretty bright tone. pickups were pretty hot after being raised.
finish looked amazing, now if it could only play worth a darn.

worth every penny
i did a lot of research before buying this guitar. the materials used and the brand names attached to this guitar are top notch
Your general opinion of this product.
looks, feels, sounds excellent
it's lightweight. the neck is fast, very comfortable and easy to play. controls are right where they should be. vibrato bar stays where you want it to.
pickups a little noisy due to poor electic isolation of the other internal parts. there's a video on youtube that shows you how to solve the problem, no biggie. tone kills, great for metal.
ALMOST flawless, the only defect I was able to find was a small area on the headstock on which the paint didn't completely take.
couldn't ask for lower action. jackson knows what guitarrists want.

Best V on the market....
I Looked this guitar over from end to the other. Quality beats them all as far as standard production guitars. ESP, Ibanez, and all other so-called "comparable" guitars don't even come close to touching this. i have played and owned most brands out there. This is top notch.
As I've said... I've owned them all... Time will tell with this new guitar. I can say that my previous jackson/charvel guitars have lasted a long time. If you intend to keep any neckthrough guitar you'll need to get it refretted once. I'd go with stainless steel.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'd give it six stars if I could.
Out of the box it was as low as it needed to be for me to shred from one end to the other without compromise Neck profile is something you'll just have to feel.
Tone is very very subjective. If you're looking at this guitar you should know the rules of equipment. I can plug a squier into my vht head and it will blow the doors off... The pickups are nice.. they've got it in all the right places. The neck pickup is getting changed. But again... it's all in what you play through and how you want to sound... You could be super awesome and put a set of EMG pickups and sound just like the shoebox you installed them on... Go figure... Uniform pickups for uniform trends... Uniform clad kids even too!?!?!?!?!
It's black... and shiny... and... FLAWLESS!!!!!
I think action and playabily should be the same field... As if you haven't read enough reviews... BUY IT!!!
