What is your opinion of this product?
Craftsmanship of this guitar was very poor from the crazy reverse bow in neck to poorly router and fitted battery box for the active pickups After a few adjustments plays ok not one of my best purchases

Great guitar for the money.
What is your opinion of this product?
I have an 87 American Baretta and this guitar plays, feels, looks and sounds like the original. Has nice low action, fast playing neck. The EMG pickups sound great the humbucker gives great metal sound and the neck pickup gives a great bluesy strat type sound

Kramer SM-1
What is your opinion of this product?
All around, a very nice, quality guitar. Pickups are clean with good sound, controls are accessible (but one is not on top of them when playing), there's good weight and balance, it all runs. This is subjective to playing style, how the guitar is held, etc. but the neck is C-shaped and does have some radius. Still, it's comfortable for rhythm, and yes, very “shreddable”. A truly happy purchase. American Musical Supply..., IMHO, nothing less than in the top one percent of best internet retailers.

Shred machine.
What is your opinion of this product?
I finally have a kramer stagemaster. Never could have one back when they were new in the 80's. Emg's and neckthru design is perfect combo. No issues what so ever. Vintage white will age nicely over time.

Surprisingly good guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
The first thing I noticed when I received my SM-1 is that it's much more "vintage white" (i.e. yellow) than the pictures let on. Not a huge deal, but I would have preferred the more pearl white finish that's in the pictures. Out of the box the setup was good. Could stand to be lowered a bit if you're going for speed, but overall it works. Nice chunky neck (without being *too* fat); the subtle arch top and bound ebony fretboard with headstock inlays are attention-getters. Electronics-wise, it comes with active EMG pickups in a HSS configuration. Volume (with push/pull control for something?), tone, a five way toggle, a mini toggle for splitting the humbucker. While you can get an acceptable stratty sound out of it, that's not what this guitar is for. Considering the all mahogany neck and body, it has a surprising amount of bite. It's not ice-picky, but in a band setting I had to roll the treble back a bit. Overall, a great guitar for the money.
