Two Processors. Two Unique Applications. One Rack Space. 32 Legendary Lexicon Effects. Endless Possibilities.
Whether you’re looking for raw processing power with instant front-panel access for live performance, or seeking rich, smooth and complex processing algorithms in the studio, Lexicon brings the best of both worlds together in the MX200 Dual Reverb/Effects Processor. Designed with both live sound reinforcement and home recording in mind, MX200 features the deep, rich reverb and effects algorithms that built the Lexicon legend, and adds increased versatility with specialty effects and dbx dynamics. Each of the 32 stunning reverbs and effects – and their parameters – are all instantly accessible within a single button push or knob turn on the intelligently designed front panel without wading through bank after bank of tedious menus. Add powerful Editor/Librarian and VST / Audio Units software, and bring 35 years of Lexicon heritage to your desktop.

Studio Operation
In the studio, advances in computer-based recording have led many engineers to value the instant control and heads-up use of plug-in effects – but many still yearn for the rich, complex sound found in a dedicated hardware processor. Now, Lexicon provides a USB interface with intuitive cross-platform VST and Audio Unit plug-in windows, allowing the MX200 to function as a hardware plug-in – recognized and functioning within VST and Audio Units-compatible DAWs as a plug-in effect, but still operating as a dedicated hardware unit. This unique USB plug-in feature allows users to easily control the MX200 in their computer-based recordings within the graphical interface that appears in the recording application like a plug-in, with full automation and recall features. Now software-based recording engineers can stay focused on the heart of their studio – the application window of their recording software. A powerful cross-platform Editor/Librarian software package is included as well. MX-Edit lets you create, edit, compare, save and load reverb and effects programs for use with your MX200 on your Mac or Windows XP computer.

Live Operation
Those using the MX200 in the live arena will appreciate its intuitive front panel layout, with an Active Reverb/Effects Matrix that constantly displays which two of the 32 available effects are active, and all functions available within a single button-push turn of a knob. Dual independent processor control areas with dedicated Effects Select, Tempo, Bypass and three parameter control knobs provide instant access with precise and meaningful control over the most critical parameters for the selected effect. Parameter change LEDs illuminate to indicate any change from the 99 meticulously crafted Factory or 99 User Programs. Choose from fi ve digitally-recorded audio samples to Audition the selected effects.

Split Personality
Either way you choose to use the MX200 – live or in the studio – you can choose two legendary Lexicon reverbs and effects at once in one of four flexible routing options including: Dual Mono, Cascade, Dual Stereo (Parallel), or Mono Split. Featuring 99 carefully crafted Factory programs, and 99 User programs that allow you to create your own legendary effects. Front panel controls include Input Level, Mix 1 and Mix 2 Wet/Dry controls, Routing button, independent Tempo, Bypass and 3 control knobs for each Processor, Program Select knob, Audition button (to preview the selected effect) and Store button.

This Is A Serious Piece Of Gear

Product Review

Having used this unit for maybe a couple of hours, I'm completely happy with it. The reverbs are lush and sound as good as you'd expect from Lexicon. There are so many functions which I haven't yet tried, but if the reverb is any indication, then I'm in for some very nice times in my studio. My guess is that I'll have to dig into the manual to get the real meat out of the unit, but that's the kind of challenge I'm ready to tackle. The front panel is a gorgeous anodized blue aluminum which you can't fully appreciate in the photos - a definite plus. All in all, a solidly built rack mount effects unit which will be just perfect for my needs.

dependable, easy to use and great sound

Product Review

I have used and still have several brands of signal processors but lexicon is in my opinion one of the best. It's like some of the other old standard names in the business who have produced sound equipment for years Lexicon can run with the best. They have processors that can fit any level of sound use and provide the output like you want without sacrifice. I have them in my small home studio as well as my live sound system and very proud of the way Lexicon performs. If you haven't tried a Lexicon signal processor maybe it's time to get one of your own. You'll be happy with your Lexicon processor and even though those who listen may not know what is assisting to produce the great sound you'll know and grow to respect the name and products.

I was surprised at how good the quality was.

Your general opinion of this product.

I've been a professional audio engineer for over 30 years. L.A., Atlanta, and 20 years in Nashville. During that time I have used the best equipment available as most pro studios have top quality equipment. I've used EMT plates, EMT 250, Lexicons (all models), AMS, and others. I have a home studio for my songwriting and playing. I've used consumer grade reverbs in the past and they just didn't sound that good. I was very surprised at how good it did sound for what I paid. It's not a Lexicon 480 but it's very good. For my recordings I use Altiverb software. This unit is used on my guitar when I play through my amp which has no reverb but I would use it on recordings if I didn't have Altiverb. I'm impressed. This tells me that the processors are getting cheap enough to use in lower priced products. Technology always gets smaller, cheaper, faster, and better.

Lexicon has be around for years. They don't put their name on junk.

I didn't need the manual. It's pretty straight forward. It might not do everything someone else might need but it works for me.

1st. the sound of Lexicon reverb. I have a GT10 and the other effects are as good as the Boss GT10. Again, surprised. It ain't broke so don't fix it.

Lexicon Reverbs and effects. Great as usual.

I trust it will be fine.

Great sound!

absolutely a 10 out of 10

unit is very easy to use, manual is laid out well

tone is very transparent and smooth.

I've only had it a short time but the Lexicon name speaks for itself

Your general opinion of this product.

I really like the unit alot, it sounds great and has a huge upside for variation

very nice for the price

it seems to be made well, although the pots are sort of soft, and could break off easily if mishandled.

the reverbs sound great, as do the delays. i'm sure i'll find what i need in any application. mod effects are also very warm, especially the rotary, and the pan effect is as smooth as any i've heard. the compression effect leaves alot to be desired. this is not a compressor.

i like the fact that everything is right there on the front panel, i dont have to scroll through countless screens. the editable parameters are not well defined, but with any gear like this, you just gotta experiment and learn to use what it comes with.

tone is very clean when i run a mic through it, or when i use it w/ the send/return from my mixer. it was very noisy when used w/ the send/return on my guitar amp, but only when there was no signal coming through it

i've only had it a couple weeks, so far so good.

Your general opinion of this product.

i'd recommend this as an all-in-one processor for a project studio. i've had other units in this price range, and this one definitely sounds the best.

The SoundGuy/Live sound engineer

I have not had any operational problems. I've been using it for around 2 years now.

Most sound engineers like the tap delay. Effect selecting is easy via front panel.

With the exception of forgetting how the dual mono vs stereo is setup everything else on a day to day use is great. The perameters on the 3 knobs change according to the effect but they are similar

I have a hard time getting intelligible reverb and delay out of this unit. I am currently using it in the dual mono mode for 2 effects. My next show I am going to reconfigure it for single stereo and see if it sounds better using only one effet at a time. The Reverb puts a harsh metallic sound over the vocals when used in this configuration.

This unit has not failed on my yet. I know a couple of bands that use it and haven't had any trouble out of it.

Your general opinion of this product.

I think you are getting what you pay for. I am going to try some higher end units. My next purchase is a TC Electronic M-one xl, and then on up to a Yamaha SPX 2000 or PCM 81 or 91. But if your looking at this the latter two are probably out of your price range. From the reviews of the M-one you might be better of for $200 more to go with it if you think you might upgrade in the future.
