When the JCM2000 Dual Super Lead (DSL) series of amps was introduced in 1997, they were received with open arms and glowing compliments by the guitar loving public and press alike. In fact one of the biggest American guitar magazines described the DSL100 as possibly ‘the best Marshall ever. It combines the best tonal qualities and features of both modern and vintage Marshall amps in one package.’

After an extremely successful and long life, the JCM2000 series was replaced by the JVM series in 2007, which has also gone onto great success and critical acclaim. That said, there's still a great deal of respect and demand for Dual Super Leads, with one of the UK's most popular guitar magazines recently referring to the DSL100 as ‘the go-to rock amp.’

JMP Tones at Reasonable Volumes!
Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
I have a few old Marshall amplifiers. Most of what I have are older and are very loud. I was in a retail store and tried out a guitar through a DSL combo and couldn't believe how nice it sounded. I decided to buy the 15 watt head to use when I record. It's still very, very loud. So much so that I use an attenuator with it. That being said, the clean channel sounds nice clean and the non-gain channel cranked sounds closer to my JMP than a lot of other things I've tried for more money. The gain channel is a little too much gain for me, but for people that play heavy metal it may be ideal. All in all for the money this sells for it's a no brainer. I'm running mine through a 1936 Marshall cabinet.

Power in a small package
What is your opinion of this product?
This little head will give you the Marshall sound you are looking for. It's also nice that you can back it down to 5 watts (living room/bedroom level) and still get that Marshall tone.

Wow this 15"watt,amp,opens up all the good tube energy of a,larger,100dsl
What is your opinion of this product?
It' has been a current trend for amp makers to offer lower power "boutique" amps ( orange Terror series, Vox night train,Peavey valve king 20) Each company attempts to maintain "that sound" found in the bigger 100 watt brothers. I can honestly say that this Marshall 15 sounds as good or better than my Marshall DSL 100. The biggest advantage is that I can crank the amp to its threshold ,,obtaining optimal power from my OPTs achieving richness and colorful tone without blowing the doors of small venues.
