Worth every penny!
What is your opinion of this product?
I have an old Marshall MG-100 half stack and the sound isn't really all that great to be honest, but this thing sounds amazing. There's no comparison.

Perfect for what it is.
What is your opinion of this product?
This is a great low volume amp that has a sound in the spirit of Marshall. If you think you can get a 1967 Plexi sound out of a $500 amp , you are dreaming. This amp does what it says it will do.

Classic Marshall sound in a great small package
Your general opinion of this product.
If you're looking for the classic high gain Marshall sound in an affordable package that won't disturb the neighborhood, you cannot go wrong with this new DSL5C. All the Marshall tone that you're used to getting is available in this amp. For metal and hard rock, this is definitely the amp to choose over the other small 5-watt choices out there. This might be the best sounding amp that I've owned and I've had Mesa and 5150s in the past. For home practice or recording this is perfect. I'm just a bedroom hobbyist player for 20 years now and this suits that perfectly. In fact, this Marshall is plenty loud. I don't think you'll need it to go past 1 or 2 for home use and still maintain the tone you want. You might be able to gig with this in small venues.
This is built like a tank and arrived without any blemishes. Now, I live in the same state as AMS so delivery travel was no more than 100 miles but the packing was more than adequate. This is definitely Marshall quality product even though it's the Vietnam manufactured models. It's still just as good as any Marshall amp that I've owned in the past.
Ultra Gain channel can get any rock tone out of it and the deep switch really makes up for the 10" speaker. It's also an incredibly quiet amp even with gain at 7 or 8. This is the first amp in a long time that I don't need my Boss Noise Suppressor. And the gain is not fizzy at all, it's a very chunky and thick distortion. I'm playing an EVH Wolfgang and Les Paul Classic through it, if that makes a difference in its sound. The Classic Gain channel gets a great clean tone. Might need a reverb pedal to make it a little better but I don't play much clean anyway. The only minor drawback to the Classic Channel is that it has no volume control so you have to crank it all the way to get any kind of break up or drive going and that's way too loud for home use. I suspect a good overdrive pedal could be used on the Classic Channel to achieve that tone at a more reasonable volume.

Awesome Amp!!! I love it!!!
Your general opinion of this product.
I wanted an all tube amp for playing at home without annoying people. My requirements were a fx loop, 5 watts (Max), good distortion (I get most of my distortion from the amp) and of course <= $500. I checked other amps, Blackstar HT5R (There is something with the distortion that I just didn't like), Ibanez TSA15 (Nice cleans but only TS for distortion *I already have one*), Laney Cub12 (Didn't get to try it, but to be honest, the fact that it doesn't have the knobs in the front kind of turns me down *I like to change my eq settings all the time*) and Jet City JCA22 (Nice distortion but I didn't like the cleans on this amp a lot). At the end I bought the Marshall. The only thing that I wasn't pretty sure about this one, was the 10" speaker (Never had an amp with this speaker size). But it ended up working pretty well for my needs (playing at home).
I know this amp is made in Vietnam and all that, but let me tell you that it looks and feels incredibly good! This amp is totally built to last!
I love that all the knobs are in the front of the amp since I like changing my EQ settings while I play. It comes with a one button pedal to switch between the two channels.
The cleans on this amp are pretty bright. I personally like a warmer/darker sound for cleans so I had to turn the high and mid knobs just about 1 or 2 and the bass about 6 or 7. One thing that is very important to know, is that the amp doesn't have reverb and imo you are going to need it. I feel that the amp totally came to life when I added a little bit of reverb (external pedal in fx loop). The only thing with this amp is the speaker, since it is a 10" speaker, you can tell that the amp lacks a little bit of bass. The amp comes with a switch (Deep) that seems to enhance the bass a bit. In conclusion, after adding just a bit of reverb and playing with the EQ and the Deep switch, I was able to get a warm and sweet clean tone out of this amp ... LOVE IT!
I've only had it for 2 days ... but it looks pretty durable ... built to last ;)
