Product Description

Equal parts classic design, iconic tones, and forward-thinking innovations, Marshall has pulled out all the stops with their new Origin Series of heads and combo amplifiers! The Marshall Origin ORI50H is a 50-watt powerhouse amp head ready to anchor your guitar rig. It delivers two distinct sounds from separate preamp voicings - normal and high-treble. These sound designs are heavily influenced by the two channels of the legendary 1960s Marshall Plexis. Blend these two sounds to taste by using the Origin’s new TILT tone blend control knob. Setting this control at 12 o’clock will give you a perfect mixture of the two tones.

Marshall Origin ORI50H 50-Watt Electric Guitar Amplifier Head Features

  • 50-Watt all valve (tube) head
  • Switchable high, medium, & low power output section (50, 10, and 0.5 watts respectively)
  • TILT control – blends bright & normal sounds inspired by the iconic Marshall Plexis
  • Footswitchable FX loop & boost
  • 3 x ECC83 preamp, 2 x EL34 output section
  • Classic Marshall Design
The Marshall Origin Series ORI50H is a classically voiced single-channel amp head that generates rich and harmonic tones. This head is fitted with three ECC83 tubes in the preamp section and two EL34s in the power section, simply turning up the gain knob will add plenty of organic Marshall crunch to the your tone. Do you want to ratchet things up even further? Pull the GAIN knob to engage the clean boost for even more tonal saturation and body! The Marshall ORI50H is also equipped with standard bass, mid, and treble EQ control knobs so you can dial in your sound with even more detail.

Another new feature of the Marshall Origin Series ORI50H is the switchable high, medium, and low power section for an output of 50, 10, and 0.5 watts, respectively. That means you’re getting a versatile amp which can easily be used in the practice room, recording studio, and live performance venues of all sizes – it’s like owning three different Marshall heads for the price of one! Best of all, you’ll retain the EQ, Gain, and Boost characteristics of your sound even after switching to a different power level. That means you won’t have to make drastic changes to your settings!

The minds at Marshall know that today’s guitarists are always looking to incorporate a variety of pedals to their rig, so they didn’t rest until the Origin Series became the shining example of what it means to be a pedal-friendly amp head. It doesn’t matter if you’re using a couple of effects or running a comprehensive setup, the Marshall ORI50H allows you to explore new possibilities and craft the perfect guitar sounds.

Old school tone....modern features
What is your opinion of this product?
The Marshall Origin was the greatest addition to my rig in years. The tone is reminiscent of old school Marshall. The addition of the power level switch and tilt control offer flexibility and options that I have never had before. The tone, presence, and tilt are useful through their entire range. The boost switch is like turning on another amplifier.

Not what I was expecting.
What is your opinion of this product?
I bought this amp expecting old school plexi in your face intensity. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I've owned several Marshall's and this was my only let down. Oh well!

Great Marshall Sound, Great Price!
What is your opinion of this product?
Been wanting this amp since I saw it at Namm. The cleans are smooth mixed with the presence, eq, and Tilt knobs, The amount of sounds you can get out of this amp is amazing. This amp was built for pedals. OD/Distortion is a must for this amp. The stock gain leaves room for your choice of drive pedal. The effects loop is a much needed addition to marshall. It fits in nice with the pedals in front of the amp. The switchable 5/20/50 watt comes in extra handy for gigs or practices. All in all this amp is pure classic tone for a great price.

Amazing!
What is your opinion of this product?
I have two Marshall JMP 50 watt master volume heads from the the late 70’s which his head is most similarly based off of. The Origin is crazy close to the sound of the JMPs. It may be a bit brighter and a touch less harmonically rich. Any guitarist may easily prefer the Orifin to the. Original. It is more reliable for gigs due to not being over 40 years old and the tilt circuit is very helpful for shaping tone. The addition of a boost and effects loop switchable from the pedal reheat is included makes it a more useable head than the original. Killer job Marshall! Great classic Marshall tone and super affordable. I would love to see a matching 2x12 cab in an old school basket weave with some cool speakers at an affordable price. I know, I’m getting greedy!

GET IT NOW IF YOU LOVE CLASSIC /HARD ROCK/ BLUES TONES!
What is your opinion of this product?
LOVE IT! No nonsense classic Marshall tone. I started at 1 watt, cranked the gain(pulled out knob) and Master all the way. 12 o clock on all the eq settings. I wanted to see what it was like before adding pedals. Using a Seymore Duncan LP instantly I wanted to play Sabbath,GNR, heavy 70s riffs, etc. Then rolling back my guitars volume a smidge it cleaned up to do some Zep, Hendrix, etc. This thing reminds me of an unmodded tamed down JCM 800. Add your favorite pedals and you can sculpt it to what you want. MARSHALL DID US A SOLID!!! Budget friendly, looks great, sounds great...only time will tell on how it holds up. I highly suggest this amp for anyone. If you dig Jake E Lees band Badlands or some fuzzy Fu Manchu, Trower, B.O.C, Zep, Hendrix, GNR, blues rock/hard rock..it can do it all....BUY IT!!

Thank You !! American Musical Supply
What is your opinion of this product?
Received this on the 10th of May . I switched out tubes because I was unhappy with the ones in the amp itself i have a pair of Siemens EL34 a- V1 and V3 are true CBS 7025s, and V2 is a Jan Philips 5751. In all im back in the 60s again . I have that Cream buzzsaw gain and that clean marshall tone . I cant tell you how this responds . I also have a JTM 45 and Now there close really close in sound , but the JTM is Loader, of course for triple the price its supposed to be . Overall great investment and if your handy you can take it to limit as i did . Thank You, American Musical and Marshall
