Product Description

Equal parts classic design, iconic tones, and forward-thinking innovations, Marshall has pulled out all the stops with their new Origin Series of heads and combo amplifiers! The Marshall Origin ORI50H is a 50-watt powerhouse amp head ready to anchor your guitar rig. It delivers two distinct sounds from separate preamp voicings - normal and high-treble. These sound designs are heavily influenced by the two channels of the legendary 1960s Marshall Plexis. Blend these two sounds to taste by using the Origin’s new TILT tone blend control knob. Setting this control at 12 o’clock will give you a perfect mixture of the two tones.

Marshall Origin ORI50H 50-Watt Electric Guitar Amplifier Head Features

  • 50-Watt all valve (tube) head
  • Switchable high, medium, & low power output section (50, 10, and 0.5 watts respectively)
  • TILT control – blends bright & normal sounds inspired by the iconic Marshall Plexis
  • Footswitchable FX loop & boost
  • 3 x ECC83 preamp, 2 x EL34 output section
  • Classic Marshall Design
The Marshall Origin Series ORI50H is a classically voiced single-channel amp head that generates rich and harmonic tones. This head is fitted with three ECC83 tubes in the preamp section and two EL34s in the power section, simply turning up the gain knob will add plenty of organic Marshall crunch to the your tone. Do you want to ratchet things up even further? Pull the GAIN knob to engage the clean boost for even more tonal saturation and body! The Marshall ORI50H is also equipped with standard bass, mid, and treble EQ control knobs so you can dial in your sound with even more detail.

Another new feature of the Marshall Origin Series ORI50H is the switchable high, medium, and low power section for an output of 50, 10, and 0.5 watts, respectively. That means you’re getting a versatile amp which can easily be used in the practice room, recording studio, and live performance venues of all sizes – it’s like owning three different Marshall heads for the price of one! Best of all, you’ll retain the EQ, Gain, and Boost characteristics of your sound even after switching to a different power level. That means you won’t have to make drastic changes to your settings!

The minds at Marshall know that today’s guitarists are always looking to incorporate a variety of pedals to their rig, so they didn’t rest until the Origin Series became the shining example of what it means to be a pedal-friendly amp head. It doesn’t matter if you’re using a couple of effects or running a comprehensive setup, the Marshall ORI50H allows you to explore new possibilities and craft the perfect guitar sounds.

What is your opinion of this product?
Bought this as a gift, but had to check it out first. 50 Watts is brutal, 10 Watts can still get your neighbor’s teeth grinding. And the lowest setting sounds good, but makes you want it louder! Tone is nice as well, although I didn’t have time to explore all the varieties. Wouldn’t mind having one of these for my self!

6 months later.....
What is your opinion of this product?
I love the sound but not the fact that I have had to send back 2 in 6 months. Both had to do with the speaker jacks . Make sure you test each jack out and then plug in 2 cabs at the same time. I had an issue with one head where plugged in to one cab it was fine...add the 2nd and one only worked. I didnt find this out til 4 months later when i got my 2nd 2-12 and now I cant get a refund from AMS and deal with Marshall...too be cont

The Jury is still out on this one......
What is your opinion of this product?
It does a pretty good job at doing the Plexi thing. Right off the bat, if you like even a medium amount of gain, this is not the head for you. Sure you could use pedals, but I could never justify plugging into a glorious all-tube Marshall head, only to use a hundred-dollar solid state dirt box in front of it to get your core sound. With single coils its hard to get any fur at all in full power mode without keeping the master volume way down low. Humbuckers is a bit easier. Oh, and did I say this amp is LOUD! Much louder than my TSL 60 super lead, and louder than even my 100 watt MA-100 tube head. 10 watt mode can easily keep up with an average drummer. I have 3 4x12 1960 cabs with different speakers in each, and it sounds best thru a Vintage model 1960A with2 greenbacks and 2 vintage 30's. with this setup I can get some breakup albeit at gig volume levels. I also plan to get the 5 watt combo as I have tried it in Guitar Satan and I had a lot of fun with it.

Exactly what I was looking for.
What is your opinion of this product?
This a great amp. Easy to get great tone. Excellent break up. Versatile. Couldn’t ask for much more. Could use a little more headroom for clean but I don’t think anyone would be buying this amp for crystal clean tones.

Love Marshall
What is your opinion of this product?
More than awesome. We use this amp set to 5 watts for studio with a Marshall 2061 CX 2X12 Hand wired Speaker Cab. This amp does metal great with pedals. This amp nails Jimi Hendrix Sounds. The clean jazz tones reminisce Pat Martin sounds with my Les Paul. We plan to make a two cabinet stack with a 1x12 Cab with a Celestion Alnico Gold 50 watt speaker to obtain the Eric Clapton Beano organic tones

Old school tone....modern features
What is your opinion of this product?
The Marshall Origin was the greatest addition to my rig in years. The tone is reminiscent of old school Marshall. The addition of the power level switch and tilt control offer flexibility and options that I have never had before. The tone, presence, and tilt are useful through their entire range. The boost switch is like turning on another amplifier.

Not what I was expecting.
What is your opinion of this product?
I bought this amp expecting old school plexi in your face intensity. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I've owned several Marshall's and this was my only let down. Oh well!
