    Product Description

The Martin DR Centennial is a time limited edition that will cap off the celebration of “100 Years of the Dreadnought”. This guitar features a silky smooth satin finish on the body and neck. The Adirondack spruce top with Vintage Tone System (VTS) is bordered by an antique white binding. This elegant yet simple guitar is an excellent and affordable value for all discerning guitarists.

    Vintage Tone System (VTS)
The Martin Vintage Tone System (VTS) uses a unique recipe that is based on the historic torrefaction system. The VTS acts much like a time machine in which Martin can target certain time periods and age the top/braces to that era. This focused method allows Martin’s craftsmen and women to recreate not only the pleasing visual aesthetics of a vintage guitar, but also reproduce the special tones previously reserved for vintage instruments.

Outstanding Martin a lot for your money

What is your opinion of this product?
I got one of the first models available of the DR Centennial. It is a lot of guitar for the money. Adirondack spruce top with rosewood back and sides all solid wood. The forward shifted scalloped bracing is the same bracing as the post 2012 D18 which I also own. I checked this with Martin. The Martin VTS gives the Centennial a vintage sound of a much older well played in Acoustic. The base is booming much like my D18 the high end is clear as a bell. The Centennial was made to flatpick and sounds as good strumming., The finish is satin adding to the vintage look the nut width is a comfortable 1 3/4inch with a performance tapper same as the D18. The tuners are open back with butter bean knobs and bone nut and saddle. I highly recommend this Martin if your looking to get and amazing acoustic for a lower price than Standard Series models.I played a HD28 and HD35 and liked the DR Centennial better. I've played guitar for 50 plus years and this is one of the best I have played.
