A great guitar for studio or stage, the GPCX2AE Macassar is a Grand Performance cutaway model that is crafted from a solid Sapele top paired with Macassar patterned high-pressure laminate back and sides, a birch laminate high performance neck and Fishman Sonitone electronics. Designed to meet the needs of value-price acoustic guitars, the Fishman Sonitone features a soundhole mounted preamp with rotary controls for Volume and Tone.

I spent several weeks researching for an acoustic/Electric that would meet my performing needs. I went to the two Big Box Music stores to test-drive the models I was interested in purchasing and settled on this Martin. Do not be afraid of buying this guitar sight-unseen: it arrived in perfect condition, perfectly in tune and intonation was dead-on!! One minor neck tweak (to lower the string action) and I was ready for the stage! This HPL neck is rock solid and, once set, will not move. The guitar has that nice, deep Martin tone, comfortable neck and the price isn’t at all painful. Do yourself a favor: BUY THIS GUITAR!!

Really nice guitar with rich sound. The face is beautiful and has the look of a more expensive guitar. The backs and sides are made of what they call High Pressure Laminate (HPL). The HPL has a artificial look/feel to it when up close. I was aware of that when I ordered, so it was not an issue with me. Great guitar to take along with you for casual strumming.
