I understand that Fender doesn't want to change the Strat too much like Gibson did with the Etune and wider fretboard so they won't hurt sales but this guitar is what every Strat should aspire to!!It's a little on tbe bright side very similar to the Strat 50's pickups but more bottom end.It has great locking tuners and a compensated but so the thing stays in tune all day. Also has stainless frets that feel great and will probably last longer than I do.It also has a buffered circuit which eliminates hum and you don't loose treble when you back off the volume. The tremolo only dive bombs and doesn't raise which is probably the only negative but you can flatten and go back to normal and it stays in tunes! The tuners are 3 -2 configuration which aligns the strings better which is another reason it stays in tune so well.As far as tone it has that great Strat quack you are lokking for but not tinny in the bridge position.Action is veey good almst shred-like .I may raise it a bit cause I play bass as well and I like a medium string height, which should he a breeze cause the truss rod adjusts on a wheel exposed on the front of the fretboard.Mine is a turquoise with rosewood fretboard. It looks retro like something out of the 60s but is modern sounding and functioning all the way.Great guitar and a really, really nice case much better than a Fender tweed job. |
