What is your opinion of this product?
These are good all around quality and reliable products for the dough, have used them at about 25 or so medium size gigs from DC to Memphis TN. Decent sound and power handling, plenty loud for mid sized 4 to 5 piece pop rock and oldies band gigs like clubs, parties, VFWs, American legions, beach parties, etc. Good looking units for gigs too, in the light gray. I was able to buy both of mine on 2 different sale days years ago down in Memphis at the local GC for only $150 each, but a good buy at $250 too. Calvin makes some quality three way units similar to these for $300. I have had good value buys from them too. Occasionally buy stuff from AMS, like them a lot. Leaders in online sales and service. Like their website a lot.

worth the money I paid.
What is your opinion of this product?
So i bought a pair of these off a friend for 175$ cabs in good shape 1 horn blown. I first upgraded to the rx22 drivers 180$ then put 2 peavey 1508-8 he bwx subwoofers 360$ in them cause they run better as a mid bass driver. The sound is unreal weather u run them full range or with subs. costed me 715$ thats with cabs to upgrade to impulse sound and save 300$ And still 40 years later peavey still has the only interchangeable baskets in the matter of minutes at a gig. Great job guys

Awesome sound and very lightweight...
These speakers are a great value and the sound is awesome. I have some older Peavey speakers that have never given me problems and have recently added these to my collection. Well made, lightweight and easy to use. I'll be using these more often.
Lightweight for the physical size. The handles and mold of the speakers make it easy to carry and easy to lift up on those speaker stands.
Just plug in and play...nothing hard.
Great sound, tight bass and clear highs...good all around speaker.
Your general opinion of this product.
I'd buy more if I had more room to store them. Great quality and great service from Peavey. Thanks AMS!

The Peavey PR15 is outstanding!
Very reliable and durable. Easy to use for mobile or fixed applications.
The best features of the Peavey PR15 is the sound. Awesome for both DJ and live band use.
Very easy to use.
The Peavey PR15 produces just the right amount of low and high end sound. It can be used for any small, medium and large event use.
Your general opinion of this product.
Five stars for all ratings! With my recent purchase at American Musical Supply, I now own six of the PR15's and they are used for various live applications including outdoor. American Musical Supply customer service and the Peavey technical support are great. An improved similar version of the PR15 is the Peavey PVX15. I inquired and Peavey technical support have said the PVX15 is even better with the design, color and sound. The PR15 and PVX15 are very similar but different. I look forward to owning a pair of these too!

Spectacular Sound
This Is Not My First Set & As Far As How Dependable They Are My Speakers Have Rolled Across Everything From Dance Floors To Lawns Many Times And For 4 Years Didn't Miss A Lick & You Can Push A Pure Hard Sound Through Them.
The Feature Is It's Light Weight. If I Could Change Something I Might Make Them More Compact But They Are So Light.
I Am A DJ That Why I Got This Product As Far As Speakers Go The PR15 Is The Only Way To Light Weight Easy To Use It's The Only Kind I Buy & They Haven't Let Me Down Yet.
The Sound Is Crystal Clear The Vocals Are Excellent Coming Through Them That's Why I Use Them I'm A Singer So That's Important.

Good value
Made in USA
Portability number one feature,
Plug and play
Adequate tone for their price, I noticed some degredation of sound when compared to a Yamaha system that I had used for a long time, (more expensive and heavier system) The PR-15s are easy to set up and move around, good for small to medium size clubs and perfect for DJ'eing, for larger venues I use my Yamahas...and a fork lift operator.

Quality Product
Our band has a pair of the older PR-15's that have served us well for years. These sound the same except 5 pounds lighter per cab [I thought the old ones were light!] The injected molded cabs are tough and durable. Scratches don't show like on many of the other cabs. Solid mesh grille. The logo badges eventually got loose[glued] on the old pair so I removed them. Other than that no troubles.
The best feature is its light weight [32lbs]. Beware that the specs literature included listed the weight as 37lbs. I weighed mine and they were indeed only 32lbs so they are indeed neo-woofer models. Short of taking one apart they are exactly the same as the older models. Weigh one on a bath scale to verify. The side handles in addition to a top handle make it easy to transport, carry, and pole mount. Peavey makes good passive crossovers with horn protection. The cabs are flyable but read the specs for proper installation of hardware and torque to prevent damage. Parallel i/4" connects for daisy-chain provided. Good "power to weight" ratio.
Make the connections and dial your sound in. Worked well with my older yamaha emx-5000 and peavey box mixer. Evidentally peavey is still using the older PR-15 manuals so I don't know how accurate the specs are. Weight was wrong for sure. I'm sure they voiced the new woofer and its specs to match the old ones to use the same crossover.
The tone on these is noticeably "warmer" than my 12" JBL monitors. More "hi-fi" vs "PA". Works just as well on vocals though for sure. The components seem well matched and the transition between the woofer and RX-14 horn is smooth. A 2db gain@5000Hz gave great clarity and brought them in line with the JBL's. Both JBL and Peavey speakers seemed to have equal power. The bass was more than adequate running flat eq. I would recommend subs if you mike a bass drum/run bass guitar direct,or use a lot of mixer inputs besides vocals. Running several vocal mics, another for harp/horns,and some acoustics in a small/med sized club/bar these would be fine.

Subject: Where are the covers?
Discussion: These speakers show some degradation of sound compare w/a Yamaha system that I had used for a very long time,(much more expensive and much more heavier system.), well those yamaha speakers are now in the garage collecting dust, These PR-15s are so easy to set up and move around, sound is decent for the price, good for casual gigs and small to medium clabs, perfect for DJ'eing, for larger venues I used my yamahas... and a fork lift operator.
