Product Description

The Peavey TransTube Audition Amplifier is a great practice amp for beginners or seasoned pros.
Peavey's exclusive TransTube technology truly creates the sound, warmth and push back of a tube amplifier through its patented solid-state design. The basic building blocks of the TransTube sound are the exclusive designs of the preamp and power amp. The preamp section tailors gain to meet the need for any amount of drive, from crystal clear to thick, smooth sustain. The power amp reacts just like a tube output section by responding to the preamp with natural compression that increases as the amp gets louder. With TransTube, you get a killer amp with widely ranging dynamics and natural grit, just like a tube amp!

Product Review

I played mine for 5 minutes and boxed it up and sent it back. Great priced amp. There's a reason for that. I am being generous with the one star since the amp is pretty loud for a 7 watt. The overall tone, especially in the lead channel was disappointing. On the plus side, If AMS Customer Service had a star rating, I would give them 5 stars across the board. When I called to return it, it was no questions asked other than, Is there anything wrong with the amp. I had it packaged back up with a return label they sent me and it was on it's way back within an hour of it being delivered to me. Great job AMS! That's why I keep coming back.

Inexpensive beginner amp

Seems to be solid for basically being a throw away product.

She's only had it for a couple of weeks. For what it is it should be fine. I've owned other Peavey products and they all seem pretty robust.

Your general opinion of this product.

Better than I thought it would be. Tiny wattage amp with a tiny speaker. I gave my daughter one of my guitars to learn on and needed a practice amp for her to go through... this fit the bill nicely (cheap).

N/A not much to tweak on this. Volume and two tones controls + a lead switch.

Cleans at low volume are okay, distortion sounds like you would expect in such a tiny amp with a tiny speaker.
