Excellent playability with 1 minor flaw
Product Rating

Product Review

For being a 'budget guitar' of the PRS lineup, it holds up the reputation of the company with the astounding quality that one should expect for this price range. I've had several other guitars, all on the lower-end of about $100-$600 with most being sent back and the best one was surprisingly in the $150 range with little faults in the guitar itself, besides bad components, which I still have today. Compared to that guitar, the PRS SE Custom 24 was a huge upgrade in which I'm glad to have made. In terms of the greatest feature, it is the shape of the neck and how smooth it is to play. I'd often get cramps on other guitars due to a too skinny or too thick neck. For me, this guitar landed right in the middle of it and I haven't felt any pain yet. Unfortunately, the bad side of the guitar here is also on the neck, but it's more close to the nut is. This seems to the part where they cut corners hard, as there's a noticeable gap on either side of the nut, and slightly behind it on the headstock. It bothers me slightly when I'm on the first fret as my thumb or hand may slide over it and give me a tiny scratch. However, other than that, there are no other flaws that make it into this list. I've only had this guitar for about 2 weeks but it's a huge improvement compared to my history with guitars. I certainly didn't expect it to be as playable as it was as for this range, I would've expected some flaws, particularly the cleaning of fret ends but that was near perfect. That was a huge factor in the playability that I felt. Although for this price, I would've rather had unpolished fret ends than a random, sloppy guitar nut cut with gaps. That did let me down quite a bit but overall, the guitar is great for playing. All guitars are different so hopefully, others won't have my flaw then this would be an excellent guitar for anyone looking at prices in the mid-range.

Smooth As Butter

Product Review

I’ve had this guitar for 2 weeks now and the sound is amazing. Plays smooth as butter. It’s was setup perfect right out of the box and the gig bag is pretty sweet too! I was worried about the gloss on the neck, because my hands can get pretty sticky when seating from ripping the neck up with Stevie Ray Vaughn type licks, but it has been very pleasant to play. If you’re looking for a great guitar with split dual-coil humbuckers that is versatile for any style of music. Do yourself a favor and order this guitar now from AMS!

Match made in Heaven!

Product Review

Amazing!Glad I waited for the 2019 PRS Custom 24 SE line-up to come out in hopes of getting a much better quality instrument, and glad I did, reason being is the Fire Red Finish I received was 10 times better than before, color matches what is in the add, more of a darker color from a slight distance,semi-bright Red close-up,and to my amazement the Fire Red Burst was blended into the white binding to give this SE the look & feel of a private stock PRS,and attention to fine detail head -tail!WOW!Well worth the wait(2 months),a Dream Guitar!Don't wait, buy Now!

The man loves it

Product Review

I bought this for my fianceè and he absolutley adores it. He's always wanted PRS and with already 5 guitars and it's his main one right now. I wish I could give a review on the technical parts of it but I trust his judgement.
