Product Description

PRS and Holcomb have worked closely together to develop a truly unique guitar for the SE Series lineup. “With my SE signature model, we managed to capture all of the defining characteristics of my Maryland-made guitar and turn it into a streamlined, less-costly package. It is an incredibly special instrument, and one that is the primary focus of my rig in the studio and onstage.” – Mark Holcomb, Periphery.

Mercilessly Addictive! The band Periphery has become a force to be reckoned with in the progressive metal scene thanks to their complex rhythms and soaring melodies. Guitarist Mark Holcomb helps achieve this full, lethal sound with his PRS guitars and signature Seymour Duncan Alpha and Omega pickups.

The SE Mark Holcomb model truly stands on its own in the PRS lineup and delivers addictive playability thanks to some unique specifications, including a 24-fret, 25.5” scale length wide thin satin maple neck with 20” radius ebony fretboard. Holcomb’s signature pickups provide the right amount of output and articulation whether you’re playing sophisticated chords or solos and whether you’re playing alone or working in the mix of a band. Other specifications include a quilted maple veneer, black chrome hardware, and a 3-way blade pickup switch with push/pull tone knob for coil splitting.

What is your opinion of this product?
Coming from my Fenders and Gibsons, this guitar was a smooth transition. VERY player friendly! Not to mention a beautiful finish. Even though it’s not a standard model PRS did not disappoint at all! Buy it you’ll be happy you did!

It should have cost more $$...
What is your opinion of this product?
I received an email that the guitar was left at my house. I rushed home and plugged it in right away . An AMAZING guitar that is difficult to put down ! My Ibanez Prestige has taken a break since this guitar arrived. It looks and plays like a much more expensive guitar . The gig bag that comes with it is really nice too . You won't be disappointed !

Perfect out of the case’
What is your opinion of this product?
Perfects setup and tuning out of the box for my bands tuning (drop C). Everything you could want in a strong heavy music guitar. Fret board with binding and birds belongs on higher priced series. Timers are dead stable. Bridge is simple but smooth and not intrusive or rough on the picking hand. Flames top, coil tap. Dimarzio alpha omega are great and you don’t need or would want to spend 350 bucks to upgrade. Used this live and studio and it stacks up with any K brand guitars that are 3 times the price. Could not ask for anything besides maybe they could toss in a hard case at this price point but it seems most guitar makers are shifting to bags. The bad is quality at least. Even if you’re not into signature models because of all the ebmblazing of the players names and bands, simply grab - 2 dollars trust rod cover.. Cheaper than your phone bill with AMS payments. Pretty sure no other guitar come in this juicy brisket looking finish. Satin finish on back of the

Great guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
Excellent guitar, impeccable workmanship, I couldn't find a scratch, ding or blemish. It reminded me of the quality I saw when I purchased my Gibson Les Paul Custom in 1977. The frets are nicely polished and the balance is good. Unlike an SG it stays where you put it without killing your back. The finish is excellent, be careful when you open it as the pics online don't do it justice. It's a beautiful guitar that plays and sounds great. the neck is a little on the chunky side but not quite as thick as a '58 Paul, don't let anyone tell you it's a "thin" neck. String spacing is also much like a LP Custom and not crowded like some other popular models. The Seymour Duncan's are a bit ballsier than typical PRS EMG's, especially the bridge position. They also do well when playing clean. The tuners and bridge are solid. The ebony fretboard, while not as black as some ebony, is just as slick. My biggest gripe is it's not made in the USA. Don't wait like I did, buy it!

Worth twice the price
What is your opinion of this product?
Fantastic guitar. Matte finish on neck is lighting fast without getting sticky. Actual set of Alpha and omega Seymour Duncan pickups not some generic nonsense. Prefect scale and setup if you play drop c to drop d. Great quality top and paint. Perfect tone and playability. I have found zero issues, even the most picky cannot be found.

Great guitar
What is your opinion of this product?
This guitar is the perfect metal guitar. The bridge sits flat enough to not hinder your hand and the neck is wide and flat like a Les Paul. The pick up's are custom shop SD's and run for 300.00 alone. it has coil tapping and the knob's look way cool. The only problem I found with this guitar is that you are going to want to change the cheap nut that they skimped on to put the more expensive pick up's on it. The nut is total crap and a graphite of composite will fix that problem and then the guitar will be perfect.

Great for modern metal and beyond!
What is your opinion of this product?
I got this guitar on flawless condition. And oh man does it blow me away. I’ve played a lot of Ibanez and lp style guitar. The mark Holcomb is a modern twist inn a classic design. From the neck profile and fretboard radius to the crystal clear yet brutal Seymour Duncan alpha omega pickups. This guitar is a dream to play

Caution this guitar may lead to addiction
What is your opinion of this product?
I ordered this yesterday morning and it's already in my hands. I've owned a few PRS's and the SE models And this Holcomb model is by far my most favorite. Five seconds after playing the Holcomb model it becomes apparent the secret to Mark Holcomb's finger trapeze antics is largely thanks to the 20" compound radius. It's flat flat flat and is absolutely amazing. It takes almost zero hand pressure to chord or play leads. No matter how complex the chord pattern I never found myself struggling. Actually my wrist is sprained at the moment from work and I felt zero passion or discomfort from playing on this wonderfully perfect neck. The alpha and omega pickups are very much the icing on the cake here. They're super beefy, commanding, concise and have the clarity of a high end single coil set. These are designed for down tuned crushing riffs and are still ultra nuanced to convey the most dynamic of clean and lead parts. Pull the trigger on this. You won't be disappointed.
