What is your opinion of this product?
I bought this thing May of 2016 to replace an old, but ahead of its time, E-MU 1820m PCI interface. The converters on the Presonus are really good. The zero latency monitoring is great, kind of a standard feature these days, except with the Presonus you get to add fat channel processing on 16 inputs (8 are ADAT) while monitoring. 2 instrument jacks on the front, guitar and bass come through clean. The software has been updated a bit since I've had it, control with iPad, and now android tablets mimics the GUI on the PC which is sweet, you don't have to learn 2 different control schemes. Also if you're recording a few folks at a time they can all have their own mix and control with their iphone/android phone with qmix app. This thing does everything I "need" it to do and it records flawlessly at 96Hz. Biggest downside for me is routing, of course I can route in ProTools, but the thing I miss from the E-MU is I could do most routing in E-MU Patchmix GUI, RME UFX has totalmix but $$$$$$$

    Poor Build Quality
What is your opinion of this product?
In My Opinion: The conversion and preamps are adequate for mid-budget quality gear. The latency is less than adequate if you want to run VSTi's or software based amps in real time. Mine is failing just after a year. Of course the warranty period is over and I'm not paying more $$$ to Presonus to fix a unit that is inferior and not have failed so soon. Presonus Customer Tech Support was terrible to deal with in my experience. Should not happen to a $900 interface. It's mass produced cheap plastic and lightweight aluminum with cheap components. I'm going to spend a bit more and get something that will last more than a year.
