Product Description

A vintage-inspired guitar with loads of personality and tonal textures, the PRS S2 Vela continues in the style of the Mira and Starla models. The Vela boasts a new offset body shape that is at once elegant and edgy. Its pickguard loaded electronics feature a PRS-Designed Starla pickup in the bridge, providing a bright, punky tone, and the new PRS-Designed Type-D Singlecoil in the neck that gives the Vela some noteworthy bite. The coil-tap on the tone control allows the bridge pickup to split to singlecoils, providing a balanced tone that will cut through the mix with style.

Anchoring this guitar is a new PRS plate-style bridge with two saddles that were designed to compensate for intonation. This bridge harkens back to Paul’s early designs and traditional bass plate-style bridges, but is top-loading for easy restringing. Like the bridge found on Paul’s Guitar and some Private Stock models, PRS’s new plate-style bridge features brass saddles and an aluminum plate for maximum tonal sustain.

Great balanced guitar

Product Review

Great feeling neck and jumbo sized frets. Has a tele sound to it but with a little more grit thanks to the humbuckers. Cleans sound awesome. Dirty has just enough. Bridge pickup isn't super hot, so wouldn't recommend metal, but great for rock or blues. Nice lightweight guitar as well. Love the shape of the body, it distincts itself from other guitars.

Better than even advertised!

Product Review

Great instrument, a featherweight compared to many other guitars. Pattern Regular neck fills my hand perfectly...much better IMO that the old wide thin. Well balanced, the finish is flawless, fretwork it amazing...love the "D" pickup in the neck position. Clean and articulate no matter how much grit I set on the amp. Gig bag is okay too...lots of pockets hooks, shoulder straps etc, but as I am not a "gigging musician" I don't care that it did not come with a hard case.

Only complaint is I waited 3+months and the neck has dot inlays instead of birds.

Awesome guitar....PRS has made a perfect guitar for a reasonable price. Better than a Les Paul.
