    My favorite Quilter !
    Product Rating
What is your opinion of this product?
I love playing different guitar amps. Bought most of them used & sometimes new starting around 1965. After 2 1/2 decades of Fenders, about a decade of Lab Series, another decade of Marshalls I'm now settled in with 5 Quilters. After the first one, an Aviator head, liked it so much I wanted to try the micro pro 200. Don't want to drag on about all the rest so let's fast forward to my latest the micro pro 200 Mach 2. If you've read the descriptions your familiar with all the features. I can easily dial in my two favorite tones Fender & Marshall using the tone shaping controls. The effects are great. This has all the power I could want and can still sound massive without a lot of volume. I've finally let go of the rest of my heavy amps, I just liked lookin at them. Now I find myself looking back at this amp while playing and thinking, geeeeez this thing sounds good. Good tone is inspirational.

Not worth the price....sounds solid state
What is your opinion of this product?
I was hoping to like this amp. Light weight, variable sounds, solid state durability (yeah, right) etc. Out of the box, its sounds like its still in the box. Yep, it has the typical solid state boxiness to the sound. No harmonic content or "swirl / bloom". In no way does this amp sound like a tube amp. Sure it has smooth high gain, but the cleans are congested sounding with no upper harmonic chime. It sounds flat, dull, and lifeless. The distortion can go from mild to wild, but again...solid state sounding. Sure for a solid state amp it sounds decent, but this amp is priced along the lines of decent tube amps. For $300 more you're better off with a Fender Super Sonic, or even some of the cheaper Egnater amps. The variable amp tones are a nice gimmick. Each voicing has the same characteristics. The only change is to the EQ curve. Modeling amps are better with amp voicings. With the Quilter, you only notice a change to the tone, not the character. Tube amp players know what I mean.

    Size does not equal power!!
What is your opinion of this product?
I've been gigging most of my life, lugging amps that weighed almost as much as me... Thank god for this new class of amplification.. Don't let the size fool you.... The 200 watts come through loud and clear and the distortion channel has plenty of options from crush to shred. My only minor complaint is that the clean channel does not have the same tonal controls as the distortion channel. Overall, this is a fantastic Head with the matching 12 inch extension speaker, OR even better powering a combo cab. Comes with a great carrying case, airplane overhead worthy..... My band mates couldn't believe I was getting such sound from such a small amp. Folks, this head will be enough power for the majority of your gigs.. larger room? bring the combo cab.... still enough power... Great job Quilter!!!
