Trampled Under Foot — Sounds Specially Selected for Stomping
The SPD::ONE KICK comes loaded with 22 realistic drum and percussion sounds. But if the aforementioned “foot stomp” technique is your preferred method of playing percussion, you’re in luck — because the SPD::ONE KICK is specially loaded with a very nice selection of kick drums and stomp box sounds that are ideal for triggering by foot. Drive the beat in a solo performance by adding a four-on-the-floor kick pattern. Add hand claps to the drummer’s rhythm to enhance a dance song. Need more cowbell for that Blue Öyster Cult cover? No problem; Roland places it all right there at your feet with the SPD::ONE KICK.
A Great Fit for Any Setup
At just 2-1/4” high, 5-9/16” wide, and 6-5/16” deep, the ultra-compact Roland SPD ONE KICK can easily fit into any stage or studio setup without having to move your existing gear. Place it on a tabletop, the floor, or any solid surface. Clamp it to a hi-hat stand, cymbal stand, tom stand, or even a mic stand** using the supplied mounting adapter. You can even roam the stage with the SPD ONE KICK, since it’s capable of operating on just four AA batteries.
**Fits stand rod diameters from 8.0-12.7 mm.
Four Knobs + Zero Submenus = No Headaches
With a simple user interface consisting of just four knobs and two dials, the SPD ONE KICK is a snap for just about anyone to operate. Simply select a sound by turning the Bank knob to one of 12 positions; then strike, slap, or stomp. But make no mistake; everything you need to customize your sounds is right there at your fingertips via four knobs located on the top panel. Select instrument variations; fine-tune the pitch; adjust effects; balance levels — even on the fly. There are no complex submenus or clumsy button sequences to disturb the flow of your performance.
Make It Your Own with User Sample Import via USB
You can’t really say that a digital percussion pad is truly customizable unless you can import your own sounds. Roland gives you that power and flexibility with the SPD ONE KICK. Use the USB port to import your own WAV samples of up to five seconds duration* by simply dragging and dropping your files, then store them in one of 12 internal sound banks. You can even modify your samples just like any of the internal sounds using the tuning and effect control knobs.
*If you need to use samples that are longer than five seconds, check out the dedicated Roland SPD::ONE WAV PAD, which can handle up to 4 GB of WAV audio.
Play Software-Based Drum and Percussion Sounds via USB
Are you using a computer DAW and wish that you could actually play software-based drum and percussion sounds manually? The Roland SPD ONE KICK can be connected to a Mac or PC via its onboard USB port and used as a pad controller for your computer DAW. Helpful hint: Turn off your software’s quantization to achieve an even more realistic “live performance feel” for your drum tracks.
