The Reverend Kyle Shutt Signature Model is a sealed semi-hollow complete with diagonal block inlays, Kyle Shutt Signature Railhammer pickups, and a Reverend first 4-knob control layout to deliver a broad range of awesomeness. Reverend’s quality craftsmanship is displayed in every aspect of this killer guitar.
The Story Behind the Guitar
The Kyle Shutt story is becoming familiar around here. We are fans, and when he wanted to see guitars, we were thrilled. We handed him a couple of Reverends, and he wouldn’t stop playing them. But when he turned to Joe Naylor and said, ‘This would be perfect if…’ we knew a Signature Model was born.
Reverend designs their own proprietary custom pickups, to achieve the best tonal match with their instruments. Reverend pickups are also specifically designed for each position, for balanced volume and tone when switching.
Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.
FOUR KNOB CONTROLS
In addition to the Reverend Bass Contour Control, and the traditional Tone Control, there are independent volume controls for the bridge and the neck pickups, allowing you to toggle between separate pickup volume levels.
The lack of an f-hole in this sealed semi-hollow helps to control feedback at high volume while still allowing extra resonance. The body also features an asymmetrical center block, with 1 inch of extra wood added to the bass side for tighter lows and extra sustain.
DIVER DOWN INLAYS
The diagonal, pearloid inlays on the neck represent Kyle Shutt’s love for scuba diving.
We use Boneite, a synthetic bone nut, that is more consistent than natural bone, on all Reverend instruments. It reduces friction, allowing the strings to slide through the nut slots smoothly, improving tuning stability.
