Product Description

The Sterling By Music Man MAJ100 Majesty is the result of John Petrucci’s unwavering demand for performance, playability and race inspired design. Every graceful nuance built into the Majesty is a result of the collaboration between Masters: The Ernie Ball Music Man design team and John Petrucci.

Arguably, one of the most sleek, perfectly balanced instruments every created, the MAJ100 Majesty features a 25.5 inch scale, a speedy, 16 inch radius Rosewood fretboard and African Mahogany set-neck and body. A masterfully crafted design, the unfettered neck joint offers the player unparalleled, full 24 fret access. Shield style inlays adorn the neck, as well as John’s signature JPShield logo, which is inlaid at the first fret.

Ergonomic in-line recessed controls include a 3 position pickup selector, Volume, and Tone VR controls. Additionally, MAJ100 features an Active push-push 12dB circuit boost on the Volume control, allowing the player ultimate soloing power at their fingertips. This Active Circuit is powered by a 9V battery that loads into an easily accessed compartment on the rear of the instrument, and requires no tools, making battery changes user friendly and quick.

Accurate intonation, smooth operation and excellent tuning stability come courtesy of the combination of Locking Tuning Machines and the Sterling By Music Man designed Modern Tremolo. This premium, full floating tremolo system is featured on most John Petrucci Signature Series instruments, and allows for full dives, 2 step pulls, and is exceptionally responsive to flutter effects, all while maintaining accurate tuning.

The Locking Tuning machines are arranged in a 4+2 manner on the angled headstock, giving positive, in line string pull over the nut. String changes are easy with a slight turn of the locking wheel mechanism located on the rear of each tuning machine. Johns’ signature is also proudly featured on the face of the headstock.

Zero complaints about this guitar. Plays great and looks killer. The neck is super fast and accessible. Love the fretboard. Sounds really good either clean or hot. Definitely worth it.

Smoooooooth like butter

Product Review

Music man for the working man. This guitar plays like a dream. Looks amazing and sounds amazing. Many people will say that it needs dimarzio pickups. However it’s not needed to be honest. The stock pickups are perfect. Price tag on this gem is way fair. The gig bag they provide is actually a good and well padded bag. I look forward to playing this guitar when I get home from work.

Best guitar I've ever owned

Product Review

So I've been on the fence about a Majesty for a while. The upper horn was kind of a turn off. Until I played ones. My playing got better. This guitar does not fatigue your hands like others can. Nothing against my other JPs, just this guitar KILLS! If you need a Swiss army knife, you need this.

Almost perfect

Product Review

The good: 1st, AMS shipped this super fast. This guitar is really amazing to play. The neck begs you to play fast. Access to the 24th fret, is amazing! The body is quite comfortable. Tuning is surprisingly stable, even with heavy bar use. All the controls are in perfect spots. The 12db boost is very usable for when you need a little extra for leads. The bad: There are a few frets, that are a little buzzy. The pickups are not very good. This should absolutely come with Dimarzio's at this price. I will be replacing them. Overall, it's a great guitar that needs better pickups.

Best guitar Sterling's ever made

Product Review

I've owned a number of Sterling by Music Man's John Petrucci models and I could not wait to get my hands on the Sterling Majesty. I tried the blue Majesty last year but I decided to wait...it was missing something. I'm not sure what that something exactly was...perhaps the fact that it was made in China. But right out of the box, this new Majesty blew me away! The satin finish looked very professionally done and even the shield was well put together. I know the pickups aren't the DiMarzio pickups but they sounded very good and similar to the Music Man Majesty. The tremolo is my favorite in that this trem just makes sense. I've loved it in all of the other Petrucci guitars and I love it in this one just as much.

Overall a nice instrument B+

Product Review

Just got my Sterling MAJ100, Came in a nice gig bag with wrenches and truss rod peg. The finish on the guitar is a matte black poly that I've seen on LTD's and Epiphones, the carbon fiber shield on the top is a decal that has been sprayed over, it looks good but I'm a graphics guy and immediately knew the technique when I saw it. The fit and finish are good for this price point, with only a couple of tiny imperfections in the finish. The hardware is very impressive, the locking tuners are tight and smooth with a very useful ratio, the bridge is one of the most impressive features on the MAJ100, it has a smooth feel and stays in surprisingly good tune when set up properly. The pickups have great tone with the bridge being bright with good bark and the neck providing that signature Petrucci tone. The frets had a decent finish ( could use a polish ) and the neck responded perfectly when adjusted ,the only concern was the nut slots were cut a bit off center to the treble side. B+
