The SSL-1 RWRP pickup produces that warm Strat shimmering tone with a tight bass response. Recommended for country, pop, surf, rockabilly, blues, ska and classic rock. For the perfect noiseless 2 and 4 Stratocaster quack, Seymour Duncan offers this reverse wound reverse polarity version of their classic SSL-1 Strat pickup.
The Vintage Staggered RWRP for Stratocaster uses the same hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets and heavy Formvar magnet wire as our standard version, but is made reverse wound reverse polarity, RWRP. When combined with the neck or bridge pickups, it will produce that classic in-between Strat quack, but with none of the traditional single coil hum.
On its own, this pickup will give you the same bright, crisp tone that you get from the standard wound model. Combine with an SSL-1 in the neck and bridge for a complete vintage set. Or combine with a higher output bridge model such as a SSL-5 for more bite.
Built the same way since 1978, we use the proper color and thickness of Forbon flatwork with all of our vintage Fender style single coil pickups. Along with the period correct magnet stagger, this pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-up wires and traditional keyed bottom plate. Seymour Duncan hand files the flatwork, assemble, and lacquer the bobbin just as it was done during Fenders Golden Age.
