Product Description

The A12eN produces a clear tone and impeccable intonation, plus this guitar is voiced to respond easily to a player’s touch. The underlying design goal of the series is to make the acoustic guitar accessible to more players by bringing Taylor’s legendary playability and tone into an affordable price range.

One of the benefits of a nylon-string guitar is that the light string tension is easy on the fingertips. Another inviting feature is a built-in armrest to enhance the playing comfort. Tonally, the wood pairing of layered sapele back and sides with a solid Lutz spruce top, together with the body’s internal bracing, project a warm, mellow nylon voice with crisp percussive appeal that suits a variety of musical styles and responds well to both fingerpicking and flatpicking.

The onboard ES-B pickup includes a convenient digital tuner with an LED display for tuning and low battery indication. Whether you’re a steel-string player looking to add an affordable nylon-string to your acoustic toolbox or crave a great-sounding acoustic guitar that’s easy on the hands and the wallet, the A12-N is an option well worth exploring.

ES-B Pickup/Preamp Combo
The ES-B pickup incorporates Taylor’s Expression System® 2 piezo design elements and features an onboard preamp with a built-in digital chromatic tuner. The preamp/tuner unit features an LED display for tuning and low battery indication, along with Tone and Volume controls. The preamp/tuner is powered by two button cell 3v lithium (CR2032) batteries. Two new batteries will provide approximately 300 hours of use. The ES-B conserves battery life using a standard on/off system that will automatically turn off if left on over 3 minutes. A low battery indicator on the LED display (located on the preamp circuit board) will display an “L” when the battery reaches 4.5 volts.

Product Review

I have been playing music for right around 30 years. As far as the acoustics I have owned, I have always gone out and found old guitars and retooled them myself. I injured my hand a few years ago and I have been slowly working myself back to it. This is my very first brand new guitar. I bought it as milestone. I love it. It is nearly as playable, right out of the box an my 50 year old Brazilian classical. The setup is nice, the machine heads are smooth, and the fretboard is very comfortable. The tones are brighter than i expected, but all the depth of the classical sound is still there. The built in tuner is a great feature. The electronics seem solid. The pickup is strong. It sounds great through a small amp. All in all, if you are looking for nice classical guitar with a great sound and pickup, Taylor made it for you.

Great guitar

Product Review

I have coupled this with a Tonewood Amp and using an iPad for Midi strings section. The two pair very well and the voicing of this guitar really brings out the midi in a very balanced way. Everyone is amazed at the sound verses my previous setup.

Outstanding Deal

Product Review

This guitar is excellent. While marketed as a beginner-level guitar, it looks, feels, plays and sounds more like a quality intermediate instrument. The sound is vibrant and well-balanced, with decent volume when playing both finger style and strumming. The neck, as with every Taylor I've ever played, is so smooth you might be able to convince yourself that the notes are playing themselves. While it has a varnish finish instead of the flashier gloss found on so many guitars these days, the construction is impeccable and the guitar has an old-school, simplistic beauty to it. All in all, this guitar easily surpasses other guitars in its price range. A great deal on an outstanding guitar from Taylor!

Sounds great

Product Review

Sounds great plugged in, it’s a little weak unplugged. But for the price I think it’s a pretty good deal.
