Ive had a few Roland kits before but I didnt want the price tag associated with them. Bought this on a payment plan and am very happy with it. Super customizable, user friendly interface and decent sounds. I was sold on the black mesh heads and chrome rack! Tip: invest in a good throne, the one they send with package leaves much to be desired. Overall very happy with it so far!

Purchased this kit for my son and I. I wanted an electronic kit because we just had a newborn so we needed to keep the noise level down compared to an acoustic. What led me to this kit is the flexibility it has and it’s something that I won’t grow out of for a long time and also something my son (6 year old) can grow into. Everything on it is customizable and the mesh heads are amazing. We play it quite often and no issues so far. Also don’t get discouraged when playing it for the first time. You will have to do some fine tuning with the trigger sensitivity etc. Take your time to get it how you like and it will sound amazing. I also recommend hooking it up to ez drummer.

I've been in music all my life, since 6 years old, playing piano in church to singing in the choir as a young boy to playing drums in middle school and then jazz band in high school. After that I played in a number of local bands with friends and now after busting my butt day in and out I finally had the capability to purchase my own equipment and have that satisfaction called OWNERSHIP. Finally having MY DRUMS that I PAID for was the height of my hard work and failures and 'goid jobs'. I cried a bit, from the realization that I had in my own right made it! Thanks to AMS I got what I wanted and I now have my own complete studio!

Got this as an upgrade to an older Alesis kit, wasn't expecting such a massive jump in quality! The pads feel great, (not quite as good as my roland snare, but also not nearly as expensive), the dual zone rims work well and do not cross trigger with the pad often, and the cymbals are light years ahead of the ones from their cheaper kits.
The sounds from the module are ok at best, but I use this kit with GGD through pro tools and it sounds incredible.
Build quality of everything is good, and I haven't had any issues yet.
Definitely recommend vs anything else in this price range, but if you can afford it, the strike pro kit is great as well.

The drum pads feel great. The module has some great pre programed kits and sounds on board. The cymbals, ( at least on the kit that I purchased left something to be desired) perhaps alesis could upgrade this kit with more responsive cymbals. That is my only real complaint . Other than that a good kit and a thing of visual beauty to behold.

These are great, easy to put up and play well. My son who is basically an if it’s not real drums the same it’s not drums, but he has been over checking them out several times and likes the way they play. The sounds are good and it’s easily adjusted to meet your needs. Highly recommend these drums.

The Alexis DM kit has a realistic drum feel when playing. The module has unbelievable sounds that draw you in on acoustic drum music or being a percussionist. I would recommend these drums to anyone. I have owned these drums for awhile and they are great if you are in an apartment environment where noise can be an issue.

Got the drum set about 2 weeks ago and it sounds great, it’s loaded with dozens of features, and translated into my studio perfectly with no headaches. The only headache was putting it together. I’d highly recommend doing this with another person. I put it together by myself and it began leaning to the point where I took it apart again because pieces slided out slightly as I was tightening them. The pieces are also not labeled, so figuring out which piece was what was a little confusing at first, but a lot of the kit only has 1 item per group so it was fine after I began putting it together. I’d highly recommend this kit if you have the money for it, just make sure to bring help when you put it together.

This is an Alesis DM10 Mkii. It's not a fancy $4,000 Roland or even a strike pro SE, BUT what this is, is a bad lil sum betch! It's quiet enough to keep your girl asleep in the other room but powerful enough to piss your downstairs neighbors off. But hey! I'll do what I want between the hours of 10am and 9pm. It has so many bells, whistles and doo dadds,I don't even know where to start. You can program your own kit, multiple kits actually, from a plethora of different available sounds. Trust me, there are plenty and if you're a tight wad who wants to squeeze every last drop out this sum betch, you can even upload your own sounds. It has built-in click track, recording, one man band etc... Its so easy to hook up to a computer for recording that your 90 year old granny, Cletus can do that stuff while sleeping. Be careful though because the sound is so good, she may load up her depends and you'll be stuck with the clean up. The set up is so easy that I threw the instruction booklet into my fire place without looking at it first. Price point is dead on and American Music supply will treat you so well that you'd think they are trying you get into your knickers, but fear not because you aren't that good looking. So stop acting like a sum betch, put this drum kit into your shopping cart and press the purchase button like your Kim Jong Un with a nuke button!

First the quality of the build is solid! The frame is lightweight but very strong! It allows for easy moving without the worry of flexing or breakage...without disassembling! The heads are tension adjustable so they feel like an acoustic kit. The brain allows for building your own custom kits and the available kits and sounds that ate standard are nothing less than outstanding! On top of all of this it wad an incredible bargain through American Musical! I totally recommend both the kit and the seller!

I recently purchased an alesis dm10 mk2 on monthly pay as u play plan. I decided to upgrade from the nitro mesh kit I bought from and a few months ago but wasn't what I was looking for in a set.. the dm mk2 has alot of different options that I needed to record that the nitro doesn't, plus it feels more like a real acoustic set. Love the feel, and different kits that comes on it from acoustic, dubstep, to african drums. Plus it has preprogrammed different genres of songs that I can practice with. I would rather have the dm10 mk2 over a strike kit ..the alesis dm10 mk2 is everything a drummer needs in one whether your a beginner or pro...

CONS: Understand when you're purchasing this item that it's very well known to have cymbals that miss completely when randomly hitting them. It has a very poor high hat response as well. I also had the drum wrench missing from the package.
I had to return this thing back up which took FOREVER. I literally had to Youtube videos until I could figure out how it all went back in. Took probably 4-5 hours to deconstruct, pack it up, request/print out a return label, and then haul it to a UPS Store (yes, if you want it picked up from you house it'll cost you.).
Now, I am fighting AMS about obtaining a better quality drumset (ROLAND because this Alesis groupie has left the building) because if it's above the cost of my current payments I'm doing for this Alesis I just purchased, I can't buy it. NIGHTMARE PURCHASE to say the least.
Pros = It's the best-looking edrum you'll ever find. No joke. Just down right beautiful.
SUGGESTION: Drop the Alesis groupie act and pick up the extra $500.00 and get the Roland.

This kit was so easy to set up right out of the box. The lit takes up surprisingly a very little amount of space for being such a large kit. The frumpy sizes are perfect for an electric kit, not too small and not too bulky. The quality of materials is just as good as Roland kits and at half the price or more its unbeatable. The mesh heads feel great and have tremendous response. I cannot stress how easy the setup was. Less than an hour and everything was in its place. The drum samples are perfect. So much variety. No complaints at all about this buy. If you're waffling on a $1300 Alesis verses a $3000 Roland, pick this kit or the next level up. You wont be disappointed. From a drummer of 26 years and a staunch opposition to electronic kits.

The set arrived very fast. When we got them set up, we discovered that two cymbals did not work. Contacted the company and did the troubleshooting but they still did not work. Was advised to call the manufacturer, they were very nice, understood the problem and are replacing them right away. Looking forward to getting them to complete the set. Even without the 2 cymbals the drum set sounds really good and we are very pleased to have added them to our church music program!

Completely happy with this the kit. Mounting hardware is sturdy, feels solid and the head triggers have a wonderful feel to them.
Sound is fantastic. We paired it up with the Alesis amp available and for quiet practice (the amp is quite loud), we bought some studio monitor headphones.
Really prefer this kit over other brands we’ve had.
We bought this quite late and wasn’t expecting it to arrive until after Christmas, which would have been fine. I don’t know if AMS bumped up the shipping from the standard freight or what but, it came in on Christmas Eve and my son got to have it for Christmas after all. He was thrilled and AMS really came through for us!

Thankfully the set sounds really good. Having a 3 year old child at home is not a problem because when he is sleeping I can always play with my headphones on.

The mesh heads feel very close to real drum skins only quiet. The only thing you can hear is the cymbal hits.
They’re not acoustic; the cymbals don’t respond like like real cymbals but no one is complaining about the loud cymbal crashes. There are many good sets on the “brain” and the songs are fun to play to. The sounds are pretty cool too. I’ve just been playing with it so far, I haven’t made up any wild sets yet but it’s capable of it.
You’ll enjoy them! Have fun.

I play in a Gospel group with my Dad and sometimes a Church can stroke when you start setting up an acoustic set so we went with electronic. This set has been amazing. It fully meets our needs, sounds great, very responsive, lots of kits in the DM10 and you can even create your own which is what I did. It is easy to set up and take down and when I am practicing at home its easy on the neighbors. The sound guys at the houses of worship we play in like being able to control the sound easier with the electronic drums. Its not a an acoustic set and it takes some getting used to but over all I like it.

I'll start with why this beautiful drum kit exceeded my expectations. First of all, the price seemed too good to be true for such a large drum set and naturally I was skeptical because of some mixed reviews around the internet. I started with acoustic drums so it was a scary leap for me to buy an electronic kit. The feel is amazing and I can barely feel a difference when playing vs. acoustic. The console is super easy to use without having even looked at the manual. The rim zone on the snare allows for those nuances that you would expect from an acoustic kit and the overall sound is just human. The kit is heavy-duty, well built and hundreds of times sexier than the photographs are able to make it look. The recoil from the mesh heads don't just add to the feel, they add to the human element as well, especially when it comes to the snare.
About mixed reviews: To my relief, many if not all the less popular reviews I have read around the internet prior to purchasing the Alesis DM10 MKII Pro Kit can be solved by adjusting the threshold and sensitivity settings in the console. This kit truly was designed to cater to your personal needs as a drummer. The fact that this kit is sold without a pedal was a godsend, I was worried I would end up paying for parts I don't need like a single pedal when I play with a double.
Overall experience: I am giving this 5 stars because this kit won me over and made me a believer in Alesis from the quality of construction to the playability and most of all the human element. Bravo, Alesis!
American Musical Supply Experience: Also 5 stars because the customer service is incredible, the staff are insanely prompt, professional and more helpful than I have ever experienced anywhere else. Their payment plans are so hassle free it felt too good to be true at first, but it's the real deal and I fully recommend buying your gear at AMS.

After I got everything tweaked just the way I wanted it started to show some of its faults. The snare kept getting lower in volume as I played it (This was over the course of 2-3 days). I adjusted the sensitivity, I raised the volume on the pad itself and nothing seemed to make it better. It did this until there was no sound at all. I had to do some real searching and it ended up being caused by a broken wire connecting the pad to the output jack. It wasn't a bad solder either, it was no joke, a split wire. Not something I expected from a brand new kit and apparently it happens a lot as I found on some forums. A second issue I had was that the cymbal pads don't register playing at high speed very well and will end up skipping hits you may make. lastly, the kits aren't all up to par on sound quality for me. The good ones are really good, and the bad ones are absolutely terrible. Do some research first as I exchanged mine for a Roland.

Nice feel to the mash pads (all double trigger), cymbals (triple trigger and choke!?!) work as intended and sound good and realistic. Kick tower doesn't tend to "move", it is where I set it 2 moths ago, I didn't need to readjust anything.
Toms sound excellent, nice variety if kicks, high hats are as good as they get.
I only found one snare that is convincing at each velocity level, so far, even though I've tried hard, that is a bit of a turn off.
I am talking about presets. Once you edit them you can dial in pretty much any sound you like, but you need to figure out first how the levels and pages of editing work.
I use it in my studio, works very well. I record the MIDI notes to an Akai MPCX and edit them there, if needed.
Plenty of practice songs to play along with. Cheesy melodic instrument sounds, but great beats, so really helpful.
It does look better than anything else in its price range, too. Am I too vain? Yep.
But very happy with it.

I love this kit. I write/record all of my own material and this kit integrates with my recording setup very well! Even for messing around, it’s fun creating custom kits and just jamming on it. Very happy with the purchase and highly recommend for an electric kit!

Coming from acoustic drums to electric drums was a little concerning. But there is nothing better than being able to get the exact sound you can hear. Love this drum set, easy to set up, adjust to your comfort, and is built solid.. I give it a 4*, only because it should come standard with mesh heads. (Only $125 for the whole set) Jump ship, get E-Drums and avoid the acoustic tuning headaches.

The product is ok. This kit is it the controller does not allow you to add anything! If I was told this when ordered I would got the strike pro kit instead. Also had to purchase kick pedal throne separate. Would love to send back and order the strike pro. But it’s over the allowed time to send exchange. Very disappointed. Called Alesis to see if there was any way to add to my kit ! They to told me I was misinformed. That they get a lot of calls regarding this same matter !!
