Product Rating Product Review I recently purchased this mixer to streamline my setup for rehearsals. It does a great job of recording 18 tracks directly to USB Drive. I have successfully used the higher speed USB Flash Drives (16GB and 32GB) from SanDisk and Kingston even though they may not be listed on the "approved list" of devices. In fact, some of the devices listed on the approved list did not work for me. Just need to have high speed write for USB2.0 and that works great. I really like the fact that all of the typical channel functions are integrated into the mixer: EQ, Gate, Compression is great. Ability to insert one of the 4 available FX units into any channel is great. Graphic EQ on all outputs. Integrated FX units either as insert or as combined effects. This platform has everything you need besides the PA and cables. I have not used the digital outputs for personal monitors or for digital snake but I assume that works just as good as everything else.

Product Review I bought my Qu16 as a "scratch and dent" at AMS and I still can't find any scratches or dents but I did find a great mixer at a great price! Be sure you have the latest software installed (V 1.5 as of September 2014)- you can download the software from the A&H website. If you are new to digital mixing, you'll need to spend some time with the manual and mixer especially if you aren't familiar with parametric EQ. You don't need to use all the features especially in the beginning - we did some sound gigs without using gates, compressors and mute groups just to get familiar with the unit. You might want to Google online articles/forums about the Qu series and find out what other people have done with this mixer. I haven't done recording with it but the manual says you can do 16 track recording and you don't need to buy any other hardware except an external disk drive. All in all, the Qu16 is a great tool for live sound provided you are willing to tackle the learning curve.
