Upon arrival, I had to adjust the truss rod a full turn for it to even think of playing correctly (I've been playing for over 20 years and also do luthier work). Once the neck finally settled, I decided to play a few things and see how she sounded. The 1st and 2nd fret were low. Everything else was perfect. A BRAND NEW, $500+ guitar came to me with two of the most important frets low across all strings. I had to level, file, crown, polish, nut file, etc the entire thing for this to play correctly. I have my very first acoustic (2003 Alvarez RD8; $140? guitar back then) that played better, but sounded worse.
I was very let down with the amount of work I had to put into this thing to get it playing correctly. I had a better experience with a $150 Firefly guitar from Amazon than this thing. The only redeeming qualities have been the tonalities and the LR Braggs preamp/EQ.
Maybe I got that one dud that always exists, but given my experience I CANNOT recommend this to someone without having some form of luthier experience or at least someone TRUSTWORTHY to take it to.

This is a sweet guitar from American Musical Supply, they always come through, this was the fastest delivery I ever got! (2-day Fedex)
The Alvarez "Artists Series" guitar has a good even, full bodied sound and actually sounds great plugged in too. The neck is on the wider side, but that is ok, this has a true "Dreadnaught" feel with the nice cutaway design. Action needed nothing, easy to play and real bone saddle and nut makes a difference.

I was looking for an inexpensive acoustic but with preamp ability. I am very satisfied with the Alvarez. It’s tone and tuning ability makes it a steal at this price.
