This is truly a wonderful guitar. It's light, comfortable and incredibly easy to play.The fit and finish are as good as it gets and it arrived in tune and nicely set up. Besides being gorgeous to look at, the tone it produces is unreal, both strumming and fingerpicking. It responds well to a gentle touch, an equally well when you dig in.
For an all solid wood guitar, which will only get better as it ages, you can't go wrong, especially with such a low price. If you're on the fence, get it while you can!

I bought this guitar as a minor blemish. I can't find the blemish. It plays beautifully and sounds everything I wanted it to sound like. I am still impressed with how they treated me when I called to talk to them about the guitar. Definitely love my guitar.

It sounds and plays like a guitar twice it's price. The action was a little high when I got it but after a proper setup it played like butter. I've had this guitar for about 6 months now and it's really starting to open up. I've read that african mahogany is supposedly inferior to "genuine mahogany", but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a side by side comparison.
The herringbone purfling and ivoroid binding are very attractive. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of 5 is because it came with a noticeable flaw in the purfling around the lower bout of the guitar. AMS were very accommodating and offered me a discount to keep the flawed instrument. I did since it is only cosmetic and doesn't effect tone or payability.
All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I have heard a lot about Alvarez guitars and not owning one took a chance on this one. Looked at lesser expensive ones decided on all solid wood was the way to go. AMS payment plan pushed me to order this model. Very well made and would recommend to anyone.

I bought this guitar as a blemish but the only blemish I could find was on the case. It has excellent workmanship, the gloss finish is perfect along with the fit. It has a very well balanced midrange tone. I have two guitars in the $4,000 range. I prefer to play this guitar. The LR Baggs pickup is excellent and the guitar sounds even better plugged into an amp. Very happy with my purchase. And as always the same excellent service from American Musical. I love this Alvarez.

Would have been an excellent value for the money if it included in the hardshell case. Very much dislike the cheap padded gig bag it came with instead of the tweed hardshell case that should have been included with the MD60EBG model. Considering sending it back for this reason alone. Buyers beware that the binding is definitely more yellow than white as it appears on all websites. L.R. Baggs vtc is scratchy/crunchy when adjusting volume. Seriously disappointed with these aspects. Overall well built, smooth comfortable neck, clean gloss finish, sounds good.

Wow! This guitar is nice!! I purchased this one to accompany my old 70’s Alvarez. The neck is very comfortable and could be on it for hours. It truly is very easy to play.
Quite frankly, I’m glad I looked at Alvarez before taking the plunge with the Taylor I was considering!

I've always been amazed at the quality of the Alvarez acoustics. They're loud (not harsh) and seem to be leaps and bounds above the craftsmanship of similarly priced guitars. I purchased this one to replace one I gave to one of my students a couple of years ago. I mainly bought it for the price here. I don't like taking my expensive guitars on gigs in the Texas summers and sweating all over them. So I got this one to fill that position. The pickup works great run direct and the sound is fantastic with little to no EQing! It sounds almost as good as my high end guitars. I'd recommend you take a look at these. You will need to take it to a luthier to be set up to your liking but I do that with every guitar I purchase no matter the price. Don't be scared of the Alvarez. Well worth the money!

What a great guitar! Compares very favorably to more expensive brands. I got a discounted "blemished" guitar, but it is not labeled or stamped as such and I can't really find any issue. It did need a minor tweak of the truss rod, and the Velcro that is glued to the neck block came loose, but I happened to have another one, so I fixed that. Without that piece I would have had to super glue the old one since the sticky part was compromised. That not withstanding, a great guitar at a great price. I also happen to like the hard padded guitar bag/case. Very light, but very protective also.

Came with case, not a bag. I looked and it’s beautiful. The neck is easy to slide up and down with great action. Sound! I have guitars that cost many times over but this is for real a deep bass warm mids with clear highs. I would play this in a room full of Taylor and Martin guitar players anytime.

This is one of the best guitars I have ever owned. I’ve owned several guitars in my 35 years of playing music most of which has been bluegrass. I’ve owned a few Martins and other Dreadnought style guitars. The action and tone of this guitar straight out of the box is amazing. I opted to put a set of medium gauge strings on it and it’s ready for the stage now. This will be my main box for years to come.

Got it yesterday. Pulled it out, tuned it up and boom...couldn't believe the sound! Loud but balanced. I have had high-end guitars that honestly cost $2000 more...not close tonally. Finish is beautiful. Neck is smooth and very playable. Great guitar!!!

I have loved Alvarez guitars since I started playing in 1986. The rich tone and affordability is a major deciding factor in my purchasing decision. I have owned numerous other brands, that cost twice as much as this guitar, but AMS made it easy for me to buy with their payment plans. This left more money in my pocket while I received the guitar the day after ordering. Their customer service is the best in the industry and I will purchase from them again, and ensure all of my friends know about them. Great company that offers great products at a great price! It's a Win Win!
