Cannot say enough about this guitar. Bright, resonant, big beautiful sounding thing. Hard to out down. If you’re looking for the one that keeps you motivated to keep playing, this is it. I absolutely adore this instrument. I only play at home for my kids and wife, but they love it and instantly noticed the upgrade over my previous guitar. Have bought more than one as a gift at this point. Highly recommend. As always, service from American Musical was fantastic.

Product Review
I usually don't buy lower end acoustics, but this one caught my eye for a smaller body acoustic for playing in my studio. The MSRP was around $1000 and I got it for a lot less. First off it was setup beautifully. I adjust all my acoustics and I have not had to touch this. The quality and workmanship is impeccable. The sound and feel of this guitar is equivalent to a lot of my higher end acoustics. The mahogany wood sounds full and rich. I highly recommend this acoustic! Cheers!

Product Review
I am not often moved to write a review but American Musical has over delivered.
The selection of guitars is fantastic.
I was able to find pretty much my dream guitar and have it delivered the following morning!
I have always wanted an Alvarez
Everything about this guitar is just beautiful.
The sound is rich and I feel like I found the missing piece of my soul that I never knew that was missing.
I love the way it feels in my hands. I feared that attractive price would signal poor quality and corners cut, but this guitar looks and feels like a much pricier Alvarez. I almost feel like I there was some kind of mistake!
The price, service and the amazing guitar.
AMS has my loyalty for life. I will definitely be buying from here again.

Product Review
I compared this guitar, locally, before finding the best price at American Musical Supply. The Alvarez MFA66SHB is built better than any other companies models in it's price class, and sounds like a $1500 guitar from other Brands. Also, AMS makes it easy to buy want you want, when you want it with Fast Shipping!

Product Review
I started off with an old classical guitar that made my playing horrendous and stood in the way of any significant progress. Now that i have this guitar, i can transcend the limits imposed upon me by the old guitar i had. I have not only transcended in play-ability, but in confidence as well. The feel and aesthetic of the guitar gives me a sense of the craftsmanship it took to construct such an exquisite instrument. I am glad to have chosen this instrument.

If you found this review then perhaps you are someone who can afford a Goodall or a Taylor or a "high end" acoustic, but you have tried this many times and have not been satisfied, and you spent a lot of money in the process.
Is this you?
If so, i can tell you that this guitar has a professional sound, excellent workmanship, and the neck is full and not slender or "low profile".
Its an excellent value, a fine playing instrument, and the sound is worth 2x the price.
You'll find the bone saddle is high and you'll need to lower it for best action and playability, however the neck is very stiff and you can go really low and have no buzzing issues and the tone stays loud, full, and dynamic.
Nice case come with the guitar.
The Mahog version, to my ear, sounds better balanced overall then the rosewood version.
Its a tin bit dry, but it still retains very good dynamics and commendable resonance for an all mahog guitar.
If you are really into finger style, then grab one of these, they're great.

Product Review
I first ordered this model, the folk, which is sort of a 000 size. The tone on that was amazing. Really sweet midrange. It had a buzz that I couldn't easily fix, so I sent it back and this time got the MDA66 dread, for a little more bass. Almost identical, though the folk came is an elaborate Alvarez case, while the dread came in a generic hard case that's fine at this price point.
Tone- now this is a hog top, so it doesn't behave like spruce, and u need to know that going in. I'd played a 15 series Martin, and love the hog snap and presence. This Alvarez has that ( maybe more) IMMEDIACY that you don't get with spruce. It also has fewer secondary harmonics, so you get strong primary tone with good sustain. The sound decays differently than spruce too, just kind of getting quieter without the overtones changing with the decay. And it growls. People say hog tops are good for dirty blues- and that's exactly right! It snaps and growls in a way that I really like. The tone Has great balan
