I like the tones you can widdle out of this thing. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because there is floor noise like its a high gain pedal. I like it as much as the ampeg scrambler od pedal. I use them on different amps. very nice pedal. The slap technique on this pedal is awesome!!!

I really enjoy this unit, and never play without it. I play direct to FOH, with inears, it helps me overcome the soundman. Delivers nice low-end, and boost for my passive Fender with flatwounds. I'm not stuck with a soundmans view of bass in the mix, as I dial it back during sound check, and can have some headroom during the performance. It is has a little hiss noise, and have to be carefull to turn it off between songs.

Can't get an Ampeg amp? This is the next best thing. Gives you an authentic Ampeg tone no matter what rig you have.

I had been using the MXR bass DI+ as a preamp/eq setup for about 16 years. I loved that pedal and couldn't imagine my rig without it. It started showing it's age a few months ago so I broke down and bought this thing because well it's Ampeg and on SALE. This pedal was a game changer! It adds so much color to my sound and fattens it up at the same time. Love it.
