The tone control is very granular. Very suitable for Country, Blues, Gospel and Pop styles of play. I am a tube amp snob of sorts and have only run across one other solid state rig that produces a warm, rich tube-like tone. Mark Bass. I would consider this to be very comparable to Mark Bass. Inexpensive enough for a beginner level and feature/tone rich enough for a seasoned professional.
I am still in my first year of ownership and I am still happy with it after being put through it paces.
This unit has exceeded my expectations. The only test yet to produce results is how well it holds up to traveling. Time will tell for sure. The amp and both cabinets are of good quality and build so I don't really see this being an issue.
One of my favorite features is the paralleled circuit for the tuner out. I prefer the tuner having a signal while I am playing just for piece of mind.

This is a great amp! I almost wish I could say something bad about it but so far I haven’t had any issues.. oh wait, I had to buy new speaker cables for it and instrument cables. AMS delivered quickly. I love it

Honestly the best amp I’ve ever had. It’s my first bass stack and first Ampeg. I couldn’t be happier with a product. The People at American musical are very helpful and professional answering questions through email and over the phone. I’d definitely buy more stuff from American musical.

Bought this cause my combo amp wasn’t cutting it. Haven’t played a gig this thing couldn’t handle. Great sound straight out of the box. However, it needs a speakeon cable that wasn’t shipped with it. Had to make a quick guitar center trip.

The classic AMPEG SVT is the rig demanding bassist who want that solid foundation of full punch and quality, no matter what kind of music they play. But for the working bassist who doesn't have a crew to lug the legendary SVT around and you play in clubs, for me the PF800 double stack is BASS HEAVEN. No matter if you're on stage or not, I use mine as part of the sub configuration on my home theater system as well.So wether you are laying it down in the pocket on stage, or getting the hell scared out of you when that explosion happens on in the MOVIE, you will be 100% satisfied.

This setup is awesome. I have used ampeg for 25 years. It has amazing sound a very smooth punch. I love to be able to break it down for smaller venues. Very light weight with a awesome punch.

By far this is the best sounding bass stack I've owned. The 4x10 in combination with the 15 gives a beautiful round punchy sound with help with the eq and compressor and with the easy payment plan you would be greatly missing out on this deal. I'm so satisfied with this rig that I dont have a problem saying this will be my rig for a long while.

I was playing direct through a PA and had great volume but needed the warmth of an Ampeg sound. This stack and head was simple to connect and dial in a solid sound immediately. The head is light and easy to transport, and is more than enough power to compete with a mic’d drum set and LOUD guitar stack and vocals.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for power and warmth to round out their bands live sound!!

OK.... I know I said Nuff said but....
here it is.... It sounds like an Ampeg. It is plenty loud enough for anything. I play with a guitar player who likes to drive his tube amps into power amp saturation (that's FREAKING LOUD in laymans trems) and he insists on putting his 4x12 right next to my bass gear.... nothing would keep up with his racket until I got this stack.....
One downside ..... I had to go to Home Depot and buy some bicycle straps to clamp it all together.... The top cab and amp head kept trying to escape whilst I was playing.

This rig has a great tone, tight punchy high ends and a low end that won't stop. Finally the drummer can hear me. We play a mix of country and southern rock and this setup is perfect!
You do need to purchase speaker cables to hook up the cabs, I did just in case since they weren't listed.

just arrived, very quick
Very Good quality build, not as heavy as I thought they would be.
Used the 115 Thursday, excellent. The 410 Friday, blown away. Both cabs on Saturday at a street fair, WOW! Never went above 4 on volume. Crisp, clear and that famous Ampeg punch and clarity. Glad I spent the money, well worth it!
