AMS once again informed us about this product because of our needs. We ordered it and it works perfectly along side with the element devices. Makes it much easier to control and access saved information such as routing and speakers. We love the full control of these devices so much that we'll be using this until it gets worn out. At that point well have to buy another as it's now a favorite in our tracking rooms. Many thanks to the AMS team for the many years of continued service and excellent advice on what to order. You guys rock!

First off, I think Apogee Element is a great and innovative line. Most higher end audio interfaces do have some sort of digital mixer necessary for proper routings and metering. So for Apogee to just make the Control software as a complete means to to control an interface without any knobs or meters makes sense, and in conjunction with iOS app on an iPad makes it pretty user friendly.
Despite all that, I like to do my routing and metering directly inside Logic Pro X and really wanted to be able to circumvent the Control software for the most part. The Apogee Control Remote has made that possible by integrating seamlessly with the Element.
The basic default functions of being able to control the main outputs and headphone volumes, and input levels with a tap and knob turn is worth the purchase for me. Adding the customizable buttons makes this a very powerful tool.
I only wish the Control Remote plugged directly into the Element rather than requiring a USB slot. Still 5 stars!
