Product Rating Product Review This amp is good for monitors. However I sent it back. I was trying to use it for powering my marshall 1936 2x12 cab, and a monitor speaker. Both 8 ohms. The sound produced from my digitech rp1000 did not sound brilliant. I own a crown xls1000, it sounds louder and more brilliant for guitar. The crown sounds good with the marshall 2x12, it didn't with dome other speakers. I recommend the art amp for monitors not for guitar rack systems.

Its ability to stand up to my personal torture chamber (the rack from hell) remains to be seen. It seems tough enough and is very solid for a 1u footprint. At this point, overall build quality seems to be well above average. Most power amps have very basic and specific features. This one is no different. I dinged it a point for not having 1/4" outputs. But understandable since size restricts features. If you're going to rack it for guitar, add banana plug to 1/4" adapters to your order. Push in/pop out vol knobs is a plus. Safety plate is a nice touch. Couldn't be easier to use. Plug it in, turn it on, you're rockin' already. Nice clean, clear power output. Very transparent sound quality. Fans are audible in a silent room but not loud or obnoxious at all. However, it may not be optimal for higher end studio applications. I have it hooked in my rack w/a GT-Pro tied into (midi) a ZOOM G9.2tt on the floor pushing two 2x12 cabs. I'm a happy camper so far.
