Product Review Easy to use and improve the output and sound quality of my SM58’s. I bought 2 of them to help the output. And also improved the sound quality. Great investment.

Product Review This thing is great, it can really warm up the tone of any microphone. I run my bass from the Bass driver from tech 21 directly into this pre amp and you really get that warm tube sound. I use this thing on every recording.

Product Review I'm a professional drummer playing out on a regular basis that uses a headset mic for singing lead/back up vocals. For the longest time I had issues with my volume not being high enough without feedback or distortion. This product has been the perfect addition to give my headset mic the added boost and fullness that it needs. For not being a big tech head I was amazed at the quality, how user-friendly the product is and extremely impressed with the variety of different instruments it is able to be incorporated with. A MUST BUY and for only $100 you can't go wrong.

Product Review I use this preamp in a wide variety of applications on stage and off. Of course it does an amazing job of providing warmth to mics onstage and off, but it can do so much more than that! I also use mine for recording in my home studio with my condenser Mic, where it provides phantom power while (once again) ransparently giving it that wonderful warm tube tone. Both onstage and in my studio, I also use it to warm up the tone of my bass, sometimes at normal output, sometimes giving it a little extra punch before the signal goes into the amp or mixing board. The versatility of this preamp is just AMAZING, and for the paltry price that AMS has it listed for, I highly recommend that you buy several. You won't regret it for one moment!

Product Review I need something to ensure that I would not fry my new sexy MXL R144 SE ribbon mic. After researching various solutions on blogs and podcast, I came across this preamp. It allows me to plug use it with out applying phantom power. So I guess I use it as kind of a dynamic mic DI Box. PROS: 1. Has phantom power available for condenser mics. 2. 10db boost available to boost weaker signals. 3. Warm tube sound with presets. Bass preset is nice for my baritone singing voice. 4. Rugged construction. Accidently dropped the unit from about 3 feet to a hardwood floor while applying the rubber feet on the bottom. I had not used the unit at that point. Fired up with no problems. CON I have only found one thing that is a little off-putting as far as performance is concerned. The Output Protection Limiting is very present if you use those presets. I recommend this product to anyone who has an interface with global phantom power and needs to isolate a dynamic mic from the 48v.

Product Review Before spending $300 for a high quality headset mic, I decided to try a preamp first. I was satisfied with the ART product features it offered but it fell short of delivering the sound enhancement of my SHURE headset. It did, however, increase mic gain db's. The mic used to have to be right against the corner of my mouth, but with this product I can actually have it pulled away with strong mic delivery. I have had it for only a couple of weeks, so maybe with more experimentation I may find the enhancement qualities ART claims it has. Not going to be spending that $300 for now, anyway.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
It is very well built.

FEATURES:
The multi-voicing dial is excellent. It adds great versatility. The unit would be even better if it had a power on/off switch.

EASE OF USE:
It is very easy to use. In fact, it can be used in unison with daisy-chained pedals and with digital special effect processors. If placed at the back end of a pedal chain or a processor, it adds great tube warmth to a guitar tone. Not to mention that it does great things with vocals too.

VALUE:
Yes, it has an excellent cost/benefit ratio.

SOUND:
It adds tube warmth (literally, it has a tube) to any tone.

STYLE:
rock/folk-rock

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
30 years

OVERALL:
It is an excellent addition to virtually any set-up. I bought it to use with vocals, but I found that it works great with both acoustic guitar and electric guitar.

Your general opinion of this product. Overall, I've been pleased with this piece of gear. If you're wanting to do some recording, but don't want to buy a mixing board, it will work well for you. It's got some nice features, but if you're buying it for the built-in limiting (Output Protection Limiting), you may want to reconsider. Unless you're driving it way beyond any kind of realistic level, the OPL never kicks in. I bought it hoping that I could plug it directly into my computer without having to hook up my Behringer Composer Pro to keep the vocals under control, but I still have to use the Composer with it. The Voicing selections give you some slightly different tone shaping for different instruments & vocals, which is nice. It's built really solid, as is all of ART's products, and I've had good experience dealing with them in the past. I had an EQ that stopped working, and they fixed it right away with no hassle. The Studio V3 works really well live as a direct box or a mic preamp, as well. I must admit, thoug

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Sometimes the light on the vu meter flickers, but this doesn't affect the sound.

FEATURES:
I like the "variable valve voicing" feature. I use this as a guitar preamp for acoustics and electrics, and some guitars sound better at different settings.

EASE OF USE:
Turn the dial until you find something you like. What could be easier?

VALUE:
I have several "modeling" processors. They all cost way more than this, and none of them gives a better clean sound than this.

SOUND:
This pre can color the sound very heavily at some settings. That's what I like about it, but your preference may vary.

STYLE:
Jazz, contemporary Christian

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
Pro

OVERALL:
This is a very nice unit to use as a guitar preamp. (I've never tried it with a mic.) It takes some of that brittle edge off of piezo acoustic pickups, and with a nice reverb you can some get gre
