Arrived in perfect condition, no damage or flaws. Got it hooked up and cookin' straight away. My first outboard piece of recording equipment. Pretty straight forward controls. Easy to dial it in, to where it sounds good to my ears. Would recommend to anyone looking to get into outboard analog processing.

Extremely easy to setup and dial-in to your ear. Controls are smooth and well marked. I've had it about a month and use it in my voice over chain ahead of an Audient iD4 and Mac Mini M1. With it I can warm up my voice, add just a tad of bass and at the same time virtually eliminate the hum of my home's furnace. With the de-esser and a bit of tweaking on the EQ "high frequency" my sibilants are smoothed out and the results exceed what I've been able to do with Adobe Audition and iZotope RX-9 (and I don't need to mess with it post recording).

I am always on the fence on trying out new gear especially from brands I am not familiar with, but I will say this unit has not disappointed! I've used it on Vocals and Guitars so far and my recording production has went from great to AMAZING. The built in gate in this thing has been a life saver and the compressor has a nice warmsound. Overall, I can get a really good full signal out of this unit. Again, AMS makes buying gear easy and the only place where I shop from for my gear!

This is a great channel strip if you are looking for a preamp that has other features such as compression, EQ, and a de-esser. You can also apply the EQ before or after the compression. If you are just starting to build your home studio, this will definitely be a good starting point. If you are simply looking for another preamp, this one is nice to have in your arsenal. For the features it has, you can’t go wrong on the price.

This channel strip is one of the greatest around for its price range. I use this on my voice and acoustic guitars. The only recommendation is changing the tube. Once you upgrade it’s a game changer. Love this channel strip. Using this channel strip makes me use less on plugins, which saves CPU power. I would use plugins for slight tweaking, but not as much as used to before. I highly recommend anyone who’s wanting to upgrade their home studio without breaking the bank. Thanks American Musical Supply. I received this in two days. Fast shipping!

This unit does a great job, The EQ is great and the compression is good. I like the overall sound that it gives my Sk 416 shotgun mic. The Tube sound is warm and clean, it sounds good with the shotgun mic and I use it for Radio Voice over imaging. This unit comes in a price point that is below what you would expect to pay for a device that sounds this good.

I like this preamp and I use it as it was intended. The expander/gate is nice to reduce room noise. I use the I I eq to get me headed in the direction I want and use plugins for more surgical corrections. The compressor will distort if pushed, but I do not use it for that. I upgraded from the presonus studio channel and I am very happy with the purchase. I am not looking at changing the tube at this time.

The features that stand out to me are the many ranges of the digital outputs for a powerful frontend. Too me their isn't anything to dislike about this product, its a very solid pice of hardware and gets the job done. I like that it has de-esser on it to help tame that annoying sibilance on the vocal and how the eq can be patched before or after the dynamics.
All in all, if your looking for a starting point to getting better vocal recordings and quality. You can't go wrong with the ART VoiceChannel Tube Channel Strip

This preamp has a eq section a desser and a compressor to make your recording crystal clear before you start to play the plugins on your cpu... Pieces of gear like this are often looked over but are hidden gems for engineers building a studio for the first time

I use the art pro voice tube channel strip to track vocals, and guitar so far. It gives the source a warm, clean sound. My clients love the quality that I produce using this piece of gear. I am still learning more and more about this channnel strip. I have had sessions where I’ve only used it to track in and didn’t have to use any more compression or eq. I recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade there sound quality heavily at an great price point.

So far, it's like having a UA 6176. Channel strip, EQ, Compression, De-Esser & Expander/Gate all in one unit.
I just saved like $4k
FYI: It does not come with a USB cable, so you need to pony up for a USB (B to A) type cable.
I got this to warm up, shape & maximize my raw signals during tracking and it exceeded my expectations.

Actually, yes. Not sure what happened with my unit, but other than that, it hasn't quit.
Best feature is the EQ. Not too evasive or destructive in it's sculpting yet, very powerful in what it CAN do. Ease of access to change the tube would be awesome and also not killing the warranty if you do change it out would be great.
It doesn't get much easier to use. Gotta love actually turning real knobs instead those pictures of knobs on the screen.
Tone is nice but not very colorful. Different tubes definitely change the sound of the unit, but consider the warranty. Change a tube, you've killed the warranty. That's the only thing I DON'T like.
My unit died after 8 months because the transformer went out. The cool thing is that I shipped it in and had it back within a week. Only cost to me was shipping it in. Great repair.
Your general opinion of this product.
Great product. Might want to consider a different tube for a different effect or more "color" effect.

It's very well built, and feels solid. In my home studio of plastic interfaces and computer equipment, this metal beast stands out dramatically.
The I/O options are really great, and the fact that I can hook it directly into my computer with a USB cable is a huge plus.
I'm not a sound engineering expert, but since everything is controlled by knobs on the front, it's easy(and a good deal of fun) to just start twisting until it sounds good!
With all the control it grants, you can really find the perfect sound for whatever type of project you're working on. I'm sure the super-high-end stuff sounds better, but I have a hard time imagining it.
I've had it for about 10 months, and it's going strong!
Your general opinion of this product.
Going from the pre-amps built into my USB audio interface(M-Audio Fast Track Pro) to this was a big shock. Although I think M-Audio makes great stuff, the sound is SO much better running through the VoiceChannel. The compression and EQ meant being able to sing my heart out without worrying about the dynamics so much.
