I wish the manual was included in the box, instead of as a download. Once you learn it and get it sussed out, the instrument itself is a lot of fun to work with. The output scheme could be better, but there are workarounds when recording that can take some time to get every drum on its own track.

This thing is great for making quick and easy drum beats. Now while it can't take samples you may feel like you get through the tones rather quick but the sequencer is super easy to use and I'm still figuring stuff out but honestly it's great for when I'm linking stuff together and it's nice that it has individual out and cv hookup!

I bought this to use alongside an Arturia Minifreak and the Drumbrute Impact is absolutely killer. So much fun. Easy to figure it all out right away. This is my first hardware drum machine and I nearly mastered it immediately. Sounds great, works great. Very happy with this gear.

this is a very easy to use machine .. extremely user friendly .. problem is, drum sounds are just not "inspiring"

I like this cool little drum machine. But i can understand that some will not. The drum sounds themselves are pretty good. The layout is very basic and immediate. Ive been using elektron drums for so long that this has sparked new ideas and creativity.

This Drum Machine is a great one for analog users, also you can Midi to other institutions. It’s easy to use, the sounds stored in the machine is vicious. The snare, kick, clap, & hi hats can be ran individually, & it sinks right up to my TASCAM 32track recorder. The built in sequencer is the bomb. You can write anywhere from 4 to 32 patterns, & has features other drum machines don’t. Highly recommend for analog users! PS TOU CAN ISE IT DIGITALLY ALSO

The distortion on this bad boy is worth the price of admission. This piece of kit is really easy to use. I have found that the snares lack what I exactly want yet there are ways around that. Love the fm synth in the lower tunings for that extra thump. Would recommend to anyone purchasing a first time machine only because it’s so easy to use. Having a blast! Pick one up. Super fast delivery as always. Can’t go wrong with ams.

I love it, I love it, I love it. Just the other night I was mussing around with the Drumbrute Impact and some synths and in no time at all I had what sounded like a radiohead jam going on. I love how versatile the sequencer is and the touch strip and the swing and the random and the distortion.... I can go on and on.. but seriously I set it up to receive BPM from my DAW and have also experimented with the separate ouputs like running a high hat through a filter or running a separate sound back into my DAW for digital effects. It's definitely a nice go to analog drum machine and you can easily record, cut, and layer your own loops in a DAW or just run it with a straight up live analog jam. It's like a swiss army drum machine, oh and did I mention the touchstrip beat tricks.

I watched a LOT of drum machine review vids on YouTube before making my purchase of the DrumBrute. Almost went with a sample based mpc.
I'm not an electronic artist. I play solo acoustic mainly at bars, restaurants, clubs, etc. I use a looper and some fx but I wanted a way to energize my show with percussion. I was desperately trying to avoid using pre-recorded full tracks. I really like the ability to improv and change things on the spot.
Without writing a whole book here, I can tell you that I was using this thing 10 minutes out of the box! It's very simple to use and also easy to perform with.
I set up my beats while holding my guitar (so, one handed). Tap tempo sets me up, then I hit pattern and play to get a metronome. Record button starts phrase and I hit the pads one at a time.
The crowd watches the process and gets into it!
While playing I can also reach over and twist the Random knob, this adds unexpected variations to the pattern at a degree of your choosing. That way the beat doesn't get stale repeating for 4 minutes. Gator makes a dj controller bag that fits this unit perfect. Also recommend!!
