Got these to practice piano. Extremely please with their superior clarity. I had not appreciated the seventh octave notes before. I was equally surprised at how comfortable they feel even after a couple hours of playing. My roommates are happy that they can't hear a thing. These headphones will not disappoint you.

You're hearing what everyone else is hearing if you get these. That's a good thing in music. You slide these on and listen to a mix, you're hearing what everybody else involved in the record is hearing. You can even request that they listen through these. Most people will, and most people have a set of these. These are great for tracking vocals as well... I prefer closed back for vocals, but be warned, that's not for everyone, so have some earbuds and open backs handy for people who want to track vox with them. These are probably the flattest, most true to life sounding headphones of any manufacturer at any price point... The 40s were great, the 40xs are even better. Every thing is clear and even, but nothing is harsh or overbearing. Your ears get used to them really fast and extended sessions don't fatigue the ears. Fantastic value. These are better than the higher priced AT headphones in my opinion because they are indeed flat. Now, I know there are more "flat" headphones out there, but these are linear and flat in a musical way. They have life in their sound... so you still hear everything accurately, but nothing's dull or thin sounding either. And since the ears love them so much and adjust so quickly to them, you come to expect to hear everything through them because they're just so easy to listen to. And they tell you problems in tracking and mixing quickly, but they're never rude about it.

Great headphones for the price with a pretty flat response. Sometimes the click bleeds through so it’s not the best for sound isolation but I really dig the sound when I’m recording. Definitely recommend for a home studio!!

These headphones sound amazing. They are professional without the professional price tag. They convenience of being able to fold them up and put them in the carrying bag allowed me to take them to and from church with ease. The earpiece are comfortable and don’t put strain on your ears. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a high quality set of headphones without the high price tag.

I was upgrading from the muddy low end Presonus phones which came with my bundle, and wanted a balanced sound for accurate recording; no "bass enhancements". A friend who is a professional drummer and producer recommended them. I would have expected him to wear a much more expensive set, but he likes the balanced levels. I am pleased with the clean, tight sound. The only thing I would change is softer padding around the ears, as these feel a little tight on that pressure point between the jaw and ear. I adjust them frequently. If AT would install memory foam, these would be perfect. For listening I'd go with a pair that has more bass, but for recording these are the way to go.

I've tried other headphones, in this price range, but these have the best detail, and clarity, for under $100.
imaging is great, and the bass response is pretty accurate. The reference mixes I get are pretty much on point,other than the client's personal taste.

I bought these as an upgrade from the ATHM 30X model, which I gave to my son for his electronics. I have a couple of Korg keyboards, including a digital piano and a synth/workstation. IMO, it isn't easy finding good phones for keyboards, but these just sizzle and provide fantastic bass, clear treble and solid mids. They are very comfortable, and a bit tighter fitting than the 30X. The cups swivel and the frame also collapses if you want to carry it around. Oh yeah, the package/box also comes with two cords, one a shorter coiled, and one straight, a bit longer. You also get a nice, carry bag for the phones as well. They also sound fantastic with home theater and audio listening. But as I had mentioned, I primarily bought these for my keyboards, and I'm more than impressed with the quality of these phones. Buy them, you won't be disappointed!
