High end sound comes at a high end price tag. I rate the audio of this close to my ClearAudio AiR. HOWEVER, the cart that comes with the turntable is definitely a midrange cart, I'm using an ortofon blue with it and the sound is immaculate. Recommend highly! If you want to go crazy, get a Ortofon Bronze and really let it SING.

Product Review
I had to return my AT-LP7 due to my Proceed preamp not liking the analog signal coming from the Audio Technica. Which there is a note in the manual stating doesn't work with all analog devices.
So AT-LP7 is a beast. Very solid and looks great. Would buy the AT-LP7 without hesitation.

The two turntables I had before this for reference are an AT LP60 that I bought to get my foot in the door 3 years ago, that I still have, and a pro ject debut III that I didn't like the look of with the dust cover on, so I decided not to use it. Which was fine, until a speaker fell off its stand and onto the tone arm. I sold it as is for parts (I had the speed box with it too, so it was an easy sell), and started doing research for my next one. So,I was in the market for another turntable, when I first came across the LP 7. I tried to find some other models from different companies like fluance that I liked as much aestetically. I could not, and I knew I would be regretting it if I didn't pull the trigger. Thankfully, the LP 7 looks just as good with the dust cover on as it does off, in my opinion. I happened to make the purchase from Crutchfield, who also have installment plans available. The YouTube setup video was a huge help, as I had only set up two turntables previously. The stock cartridge sounds so good! And it also picks up very little silibance from records that may have seen better days. The Ortofon OM5e cartridge on my old pro ject was not very good in this situation, and had audible inner groove distortion alot of the time. I recently purchased a Fosi Audio tube phono stage for 70$, upgrading from my stock phone stage on my Yamaha a-s501 integrated amp. I can't remember if it was the what hifi review or if it wasn't another site, but they were of the opinion that this was the best table Audio Technica has made, and likely the best turntable under 1,000$. I completely agree.

This is replacing a Bang & Olufsen Beogram 3000 that finally bit the dust. This ATLP7 has precision speed control so my records play at exactly 33/45RPM. The cart is ok but I upgraded to the AT540 and this turntable absolutely sings. The special platter is static free and I don’t even use a mat since it sounds so full. If you’re on the fence don’t be. This is a keeper.

I have been lusting for a clear audio concept deck for a long time but the price is just too high for me to swing. After reading reviews I bit the bullet and bought the audio technicas me Lp 7 for $799 spreading it out with a payment plan. This thing is amazing. It blows my pro-ject out of the water. It has audiophile sound with dJ stability and ease of set-up. It looks pretty sexy as well

After opening the turntable, was impressed with the look, the sturdiness, and complete feel of the unit. So easy to assemble, yet noticeable higher end aspects that help deliver the perfect balance of sound, motion, and warmth of pure vinyl. So very pleased with the AT-7LP. A turntable you can grow into, as you grow your love for vinyl records. Would recommend to anyone.
