This amp is awesome...40watts plenty loud. The ISF knob I love I can change from a american amp to a english amp! There reverb can be changed to a warm sounds to a chrystal bright sound! I love this amp!!!

After reading the reviews on this amp I decided to take a chance on buying it, and let me tell you I was blown away!!! This amp is the sandwich,a bag of chips and everything in between, so to speak. The tones/sounds that come from this amp is amazing, plus the ISF switch is awesome as well. You can go from British type guitar distortion ( think Orange amps) to American type distortion ( Marshall amps). And for the price of the amp you are getting a steal. Thank you Blackstar for making a truly high quality combo amp, and AMS for such great prices and payment plans for the working man as well.

I have been a musician for 20 years now, and this amp blew me away. The amount of tones that you can get with this Blackstar is absolutely fantastic. This amp can go anywhere from the cleanest clean, to dirty and gritty, to wicked heavy metal. This an amp perfect for those musicians, who like myself, love and play every genre of music. 10/10 would recommend this amp to any musician. AMS made this purchase a no brainer with their payment options.

This is a good bang for your buck combo. I'm able to get great clean bell like tones, similar to classic fender amps. Takes pedals very good. Then add some dirt and get a classic plexi - British Sound. I dig it ??. Good quality and great value for the money.

This is a fantastic tube amp for the money. 2 channels of clean and crunch are very responsive and works great with an effects processor. I usually prefer solid state amps for my ears but this is the first tube unit that actually sounds like the high dollar tube amps I used to dream about. Blackstar did it right! Get one on the AMS payment plan today you won't regret it.

I’ve owned lots of amps through Out the years everything from Marshall to fender and they are great Amps but I have to say the club 40 for the price is one hell of an amp .its a good looking Amp it’s light weight and most important it sounds great .the cleans are pretty good not exactly fender cleans but still good the over drive channels sound awesome It’s so versatile you can get plenty of great tones and it takes pedals very well .have to say I’m very happy with my decision to purchase this amp ..Have been buying all my music gear from ams for years and have never been dissatisfied .thank you ams you guys rock

I had always wanted a Blackstar amp after playing in a band with someone who had one years ago. I'm so happy I finally got one! The 2 channels and 2 voices along with the ISF control give you so many sound possibilities. The 4W switch makes it a lot easier to play in my bedroom late at night without disturbing anyone. I used it once to practice with a fairly loud band on the 40W setting and it definitely held up with room to spare. Not bad for a single 12" speaker! I've used the USB portion to record a little bit and it sounds pretty great. I also love how it gives you 4 tracks, definitely gives you a lot to work with. If you're thinking about getting this amp, I say do it!

Loving the overdrive Channels, The clean channel is acceptable, Not as great as a fender but workable. The overall build quality is not as nice as a Mesa or even Fender but as far as sound quality I am very pleased so far, I love the ability to change the output from 40 watts to 4 watts and it takes my pedals very well! Great amp.

If you’re looking for an all tube amp with incredible tone look no further. I’ve been searching for a tube amp that had the gain and harmonics without all of the high end fizz while playing lead that many tube amps unfortunately have. I play this amp straight, with no pedals, and the tone is EPIC. I love the option to play at 4 watts so rocking out in the bedroom keeps the neighbors at bay. The ISF feature is killer. Switch between tight and controlled American tones, or huge unapologetic British sounds with the turn of the knob, and every sound in between. If your on the fence about buying this amp, go for it. You won’t regret it!! BlackStar is my first choice!

Clean channel has two distinctly different tones that are foot switchable. Dirty Channel has two different gain structures that are foot switchable. Country, blues, jazz, pop, rock, punk, metal are all in this amp!
The speaker quality is EXCELLENT!
When the gain is low to medium on the light overdrive side it cleans up quickly with the guitars volume knob. When the gain is lower on the rock side it also cleans up well. I use a boost pedal for my solos, but you can use the voice foot switch to go between four different sounds for rhythm and lead. Comes with 2 button foot switch, but you can order the 5 button for ultimate control with boost switch.
A very useful feature is the front panel wattage reduction switch - which brings it from 40 watts to 4 watts. Great for practicing at home at MUCH lower volume or for small gigs!

Love this amp in my home studio. Versatile amp that achieves both American/British tones without any struggle. No need for multiple amps with the ISF knob and voice switches that allow me to change the character of the amp. This thing is LOUD so the 4W power reduction mode is awesome for private practice without bothering anyone. Plenty of headroom and no trouble keeping up with our band live. These are high quality and high value amps at a comfortable price point for a tube amp.

I have the original club 40 and it is an awesome amp. Has exactly the distortion I was looking for. I saw the upgrades on the mk2 and thought I would get another for studio work. The only thing I don't like is it seems the cab is a little smaller and doesnt quite have the bottom end as the original but I don't think you can beat this amp for the sound and features.

Blackstar is THE BEST amp I've ever played. I'm 61 and have played every amp you can think of.
I play Classic Rock and need all those tomes from the 60's, 70's & 80's. I have 3 Blackstar's now and had the 60W combo too. I've played outside here in Florida for 3 years and NEVER an issue.
The NEW Mark II is AWESOME. Pay the money for the 5 button foot pedal and you'll save on boosters and OD Pedals.(I had them with the first versions)
CLEAN Vox type/Fender Type Cleans and you can dial in a Plexi Marshall or Boogie in a few seconds.
The NEW Features of XLR, 4 watt practice volume and 5 button foot switch makes this THE Best Blackstar they have made yet. Also very well built and never an issue in over 4 years of playing their amps.
This is THE BEST amp on the market and a GREAT Price with AMS. BUY IT you won't be disappointed.

Love this amp. I was looking for a tube amp with separate EQ for clean and OD channels. Looked at some other brands and stumbled on to the Blackstar. Sounds awesome and has tons of features you would expect from an amp three times the price.
