I’ve owned a vintage CE-2 for years & have always wanted to go ahead and compare the two - they don’t sound exactly identical but I won’t be selling either any time soon!
CE-2 circuit seems to add a tiny bit more gain (not necessarily a good thing) & also seems to have a little deeper of a chorus.
CE-2W has the CE-1 chorus and vib channels (I think) to make up for that difference/add more versatility - which I think it does successfully.
I’ve always been partial to the CE-1 sound, so I have it set as such - having the choice to switch between the three definitely sold me on putting my vintage CE-2 on the shelf.

I was questioning what kind of Chorus pedal to get and upon browsing the interwebs, I discovered this “reissue”!! After watching several reviews I decided to spend my Christmas $$ on this and I can say I was not let down at all. I can get all the sounds and more out of this. This is a must have on any board. covers most all the bases for a chorus pedal. It's the top of the line for Boss and provides that iconic chorus you need.
I love this pedal, it is one of my favorite and most used pedals.

A great pedal with lots of options. I have been a user of Boss chorus pedals for 33 years. When it was time to purchase a new one this really fit the bill. With the option to get the CE1 sounds it opened up new tonal possibilities. A great Boss product!

This is one of the better chorus pedals I've ever owned. I love how it sounds in the middle position, L dial all the way down and R dial all the way up in Mono. I don't personally care for it's sound in the stereo position, but that's fine, saves me a cable haha. Really beautiful sounding chorus nonetheless. Worth getting 100%

I never understood the hype of the Waza Craft stuff until now. Holy crap is this thing good! It has quickly become my "go to" chorus. The quality is fantastic and the sounds are superb. I got it about a month ago and have already done 5 shows with it. Super dependable and built like a tank.

This pedal is THE one to buy if you're looking for those hard to get Rush/Police tones from the 70s and 80s. It has other sounds in it as well but I was looking for those particular tones and found those in spades with the pedal. There are maybe one or two other pedals out there that can reproduce the same tones but I think this one provides those exactly. Works perfectly with both clean and overdriven tones. I've had it a few months now and it's extremely easy to use (just two knobs and a switch). It's a Boss so it's rather indestructible. Pricey? Maybe, but that all depends on what you're looking for. To me it was well worth the money!

Do I want the CE-1? Or do I want the CE-2? Well now I don’t have to worry about choosing. Both great sounds of the CE-1 and the CE-2 in one great waza craft pedal. Boss classic chorus sound. What a great versatile pedal. Highly recommended to any chorus aficionado.

I have both a CE-1 and a CE-2. I bought my CE-2 used in 1993. My CE-1 I bought used in about 1996.
I don’t change or buy pedals much (I still use my SG-1 and DM-2). I was skeptical of this but bought it to check out. The main thing I like is it’s small and can run on 9v. I use a rechargeable power supply on my board and had removed my CE1 because of that and the space.
This pedal nails the CE-2 sound. It comes really, really close to the CE-1 but is a little less noisy. For the low price this is a no brained if you want those sounds. This will, not make your amp sound like a JC amp like one person complained about.

I use this unit for my Rhodes. At first I thought I’d only use it here and there for leads but some sets I use it on a light setting all the way through. Everybody knows Boss stuff is built like a tank so no issues with the build. Overall, this is a great piece that I’ll probably keep in my rig forever.

I lost my CE2 a few years back and its been hard to find a replacement for under $300.00 unless you want one that looks like its been through WWIII. I was skeptical, but rolled the dice on The Waza and I have to say I am very impressed. There is a slight difference in tone as the OG was a bit more bass oriented and just a tad warmer, but with that trade off you also get the sounds of the CE1 the OG Of Chorus pedals and that trade off is well worth it. For right now, this is thee best Chorus pedal out there and the price is well within range for a boutique pedal. 100% satisfied.
