Product Review So far it sees to perform very well, for the price . Not super difficult to operate, although i do recommend to read the book, and order the power supply, you’ll be glad you did! Construction feels pretty solid, knobs and switches are ok so far. If your not sure about adding a high dollar processor to your bass rig, this Boss gt-1b would be a good place to start.

Product Review This is the 3rd Boss pedal I bought this year. All are great. This GT1B is an excellent processor, with great sound. I like how it has two 1/4” outputs for using two amps. I dialed it in right away, with the standard patches.

Product Review Super bright lights on this thing. Loads of presets that are easy to scroll through. A few usable ones, but loads of junk. Not the best sounds either. I wanted this pedal for 2 years. I’m a little underwhelmed. The individual effects are mediocre at best but the presets sound pretty bad. In fairness, I am playing on a cheap bass. But if you are looking at this pedal, you probably are also. It is worth the $200 but not more.

Product Review The Boss GT-!B is an awesome little bass processor with many, many different sounds. You can sound like you are playing in any era, in any genre you wish. From the funky 70's to the metal mayhem of today this thing delivers. It is compatable with many diffent amps and offers a few choices of footswitches. It takes a while to figure eveything out but all in all a nifty little toy to add variety and character to your sound.

Product Review I am not really a "pedal guy". In the past, I have only ever used one multi-effect guitar pedal for playing around at home. However, ecently have become interested in a compression pedal ($199), maybe a chorus pedal ($130), and an octave ($130). Well with those three pedals I was looking at over $450 new! So, instead, I began to consider multi-effects processors for my Squier Precision PJ. I looked at only three; the Zoom B1 ($80), the Zoom B1X ($110), and the Boss GT-1B ($220). In spite of the many, many positive reviews for the Zoom B1 (and the B1X), I was more than a little leery of the plastic housing for the Zoom. I wanted something that I could be confident would hold up over time. So, I consulted the usual suspects: Online music sites and a Bass forum where all they do is Talk Bass; and the general consensus was that the Boss GT-1B was the best multi-effects processor (pedal) out there. So I decided to go for it. This processor, as far as I am concerned, is a GREAT addition to any bassist's arsenal of gear! Here are SOME of the effects that are included: Compressor, Limiter, Wah, Enhancer, Graphic EQ, Parametric EQ, Synth, Octave, De-Fretter, Pitch Shift, Phaser, Flanger, Tremolo, Vibrato, Chorus, and Delay. Those effects are what the patches are built upon. In other words; it is the combination of the various effects that produce what is called a "Patch". Now, a word of caution/wisdom here: If you have a chance to listen to the factory pre-set patches you may not be impressed. The fact is; it's not the Factory Patches that make this pedal great, it is the ability of YOU the USER to create your OWN patches based on the many available effects! The processor comes with an owner's manual but you will want to download the GT-1B Parameter Guide/Sound List from the Boss website. In addition, I recommended that you download the Boss Tone Studio software to program the pedal on your PC or Mac. This software simplifies the creation of patches. The software DOES require a driver (also on the Boss website) for the Effects Processor and that driver needs to be installed BEFORE you attach the Boss to your PC. Attaching the pedal to your PC is simple and requires a USB 2.0 A/B (printer) cable readily available anywhere. Lastly, make certain that you READ YOUR MANUAL! It will give you better insight as to how to navigate the many features of this amazing Bass Effects Processor. Take your time, grab a cup of coffee, relax, and read carefully; it will be totally worth the investment! As usual, AMS shipped quickly and the package arrived safely. I can recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to invest tons of money into their effects pedals. The Boss GT-1B is more than up to the task of shaping your bass sound.

Product Review Although it is a Boss processor, one of many in a long line of pedal boards that can trace its lineage to the Roland VG-8, this one I think is meant for practice while on the road and is not intended to replace a professional rig. It's array of effects and functions are suitable for bass along with some I don't think I will ever use. The sound is fairly clean, although I'm getting some unwanted resonance on my low B string, which may be because of my cheap speakers. The user interface is intuitive, at least for me. I've been using boss processors since the GX-700. The control hardware seems durable, illuminated foot switches are a nice touch. The exp pedal switch threshold can be adjusted, so you can keep it on a desk and control it by hand. I like that it conveniently fits in my gig bag pouch. I would have preferred an on-off switch versus the input jack switching the power on with a cable plugged in.

Product Review Don’t get me wrong, this is a fun pedal to try out different sounds with and not break the bank. But for me, that’s about as far as it goes. Not suitable for live shows. Also it is waaaay smaller than I expected (which is good for easy storage) but you really have concentrate hard so not to hit two buttons at once. The sounds and effects are kind of cheap sounding. Editing is a pain and overall construction is not raid worthy (plastic buttons). Honestly I think this would be better for a guitar????? Still fun to mess with if you’re wanting to build a pedalboard and want to see what different sounds are out there.

Product Review Pros: Great effects, affordable Cons: No copy feature, AC adapter not included, short battery life, too few pedals. But I recommend this unit anyway. This concept was new to me. I'm used to old school MFX, such as the Korg A4 I played in the 90s. I wish Boss still made the bigger GT-10B. I prefer to use pedals for hosting static patches, not for toggling effects on and off. Took me a while to get the hang of editing, but Boss's Quick Start videos on YouTube proved to be quite helpful. I actually like a lot of the stock patches. I'm a fretless player, so I dig the "Mild Tube" patch. A copy feature would've been nice, as I wanted to have 3 or 4 versions of it (had to write settings down and edit unused patches). The Octave tracking belched on just about every patch except on "Hip-hop Dub". That one gives me the Tony Levin sound. Fun fact: 2 stock patches allow you to recreate both of Jack's car trips to the Overlook Hotel. The BossTone Studio provides a handy bird's eye view for editing.

Product Review More than a little disappointed in th GT1-B. The operation is not very "intuitive" as advertised. The preset patches are not listed in the owners manual. That requires downloading a separate file from Boss. The looper function is on the same patch as the delay, which makes it useless when using any other delay effect. To operate the tuner requires depressing two switches simultaneously, not what I consider convenient design. On the plus side, the tones available are decent and the cost is less than what one would spend for a separate tuner, octive pedal and delay. Simply for that reason is why I would even consider purchasing this again.

Product Review The great: Effects and customization, amp modeling, very accurate tuner and fits in my backpack. Looks fantastic and LCD display is nice.Didnt flatten or mess with any pre existing EQ settings before pedal. The tone is amazing. I want so bad to give it 5 stars but there are issues. The Good: Ability to loop multiple times. The sound cuts thru mix very well and very easy to control. The bad: Pedal pad sensitivity. When trying to change effects it sometimes is glitchy and has a mind of its on and will scroll. Almost aliken to a keyboard without weighted keys. If you don't apply perfect pressure you may not get the desired affect and one 5 or 6 spaces down the chain.During our set today the pedal started scrolling when barely touched and almost was disastrous. Fortunately I was using user presets and was able to get back quickly to right effect. The Ugly Looper skips time. You can time everything perfectly but no matter how perfect you are the looker will not stay in time for long term looking. It puts a pause in between. The spacing between foot pads: You have to be really careful selecting both pedals at once to activate tuner and looper. No memory expansion to save loops. Once you unplug, loop is lost. I have over 20 yrs experience and have toured and recorded with country, southern gospel, contemporary and praise and worship artist. This is one of the best purchases I have made for home studio or small church setting. However, due to the pedal scrolling issue I would not take on road due to the possible disaster it would cause by the unweighted pedal pad issue.I love the concept, they just have some work to do....
