Product Rating Product Review I own a Blackstar ID260 that has proven itself to be a great versatile amp. It makes my BOSS Gt-100 sound fabulous. I just received the BOSS Katana 100 today. I was excited to hear it. The quality of the amp and the sounds are typical high quality expected from BOSS. BUT... the distortion gain is lacking. It lacks drive. The dealbreaker would be the EQ. This amp lacks any serious level of bottom end. Very little bass output. The acoustic preamp has a lot of low end punch. But all other preamp settings have none. That alone is a reason to pass this amp up. The Blackstar blows away the Katana in every way. I wish it were different. As I would have gladly placed the Katana in the chain alongside the Blackstar to run stereo with the gt-100.

Product Review When I tried out a used guitar in the local music store, an instructor there recommended I try the Katana 100 2X12 they had. Easy, intuitive controls, great sound, especially in the clean settings. I was looking for an old tube map. Maybe a Fender Super Reverb if I could find it. But man, the the $$ and sound this can’t be beat. ~ Drew

Product Review This amp is a tone monster. Consistant, super loud, so much so I've never used it in the 100 watt setting. Endless effects and it works well with pedals. Best combo amp in this price range, it for me has replaced a blackstar that literally blew, that replaced a Marshall solid state in search for better "cheaper" tone.

Product Review We're is the bottom end? Tones are sub par at best. Loud as hell but still high volumes love end sounds flabby no punch or tightness whatsoever...Line 6 is by far a better modeling amp...

Product Review Well, I've owned this amp for about 5 months now and I'm still amazed at the tones I'm able to get from this amp. I play Gospel, blues, R and B, soul and smooth jazz, and this amp supplies all the tone I need. I mostly use the clean channel and when I first started playing the clean channel I wasn't sure if it sound more like a marshall or a fender tube amp. Then I found out that the clean channel was based on the Roland JC120, no wonder the clean channel sounds so rich. I normally play the amp clean and use my foot pedals and it take pedals extremely well. I recently when to a brick and mortar store to try out some 1,000 plus tube amps and immediately when home to play my 2X12 Katana and frankly I liked the sound of the Katana better. Best 500 bucks I've ever spent on an Amp. Check it out. Like I said this is a great amp period.

Product Review Just got it. Sounds really good, noise at high gain as others stated, though I use it clean with pedals. Glad I got the 2x12 cause anything smaller may not sound as good. You could gig with this easy. A little on the sharp side, clean, kind of cutting. It is solid state, and I have a vox ac15, so it is nice to have a tube amp for the tube tone and this for stereo when I jam out. Great customer service at AMS and they have helped me get all my gear.

Product Review This is 1 of the best amplifier's that I played through & I've been playing since the age of 12 & I've played through peaveys, fenders, marshalls, rolands, randalls, crates, and not 1 of these can compete with the boss katana. I just love it, I don't believe I would trade it for nothing in the world & yes, I would recommend this amplifier, when I 1st heard it on YouTube I knew I would love it & I did & when I saw the fedex truck pull up I knew what they were bringing & when I unboxed it & heard it, I fell in love with it all over again. This is an amplifier that should be treated like your baby or a man's wife and thanks AMS for this great hear & just know that I will continue to shop with you all

Product Review Just used this last night for a small gig, this little amp has such great tones for not being a tube amp. plenty of power and very clean. I did not use the distortion that is built in the amp, but it loved my Boss 1oo pedal board. the big plus it don't weight that much for a 2 12 combo amp . It's very well built, now to buy a cover for it =)

Product Review In my fifty year career I've had a lot of GOOD amps, both tube and solid state. I started using Roland JC120s when they were introduced in the 70s. I still use a JC77 because it's lighter. Roland is dependable. Boss is a Roland subsidiary. Boss FX have been part of my arsenal for a long time. The Katana 100-212 is every amp I've ever owned and more. No monitor screen to scroll through, just dial in what you want. AND… what you want is in there. Save it with a touch. Timer 4. Then dial in another and use it on the panel. The weight of this twin twelve is LIGHT. Only 2 pounds more than my JC77. The acoustic amp setting is exactly that. Everything on this amp is exactly what it says. And you can tailor it to provide the Boss FX you like. This, as far as I'm concerned, is THE AMP. You won't find ANYTHING better for the money.
