Not fully broken in but already fantastic tones. For more dynamic range I paired with a G12M heritage in an old 2 X 12 Crate V18 I had sitting in the corner that I figured was decent but the stock speakers sucked. Wow what a speaker combo. Strat, Tele, LP, 335, SG all sound great. I'm really a blackface guy, have 2, but this marshall clone now sings and growls with a whole new style of amp flavors to use. AMS got it here in under 48 hrs! Tube amps forever.

I bought two of these to replace some V30’s in a 212 cabinet. Wow. They sound phenomenal with my Marshall SV20!! They totally nail the sound I was going for and I couldn’t be happier. Very close to the 70’s greenbacks in the cab I was borrowing and I don’t have to worry about them crapping out. I may have to buy a couple more!

Greenbacks are legendary in that sweet tonal balance of cleans, grit and crunch, it’s no wonder the greats utilized them so much. I had to see/hear what the hype was all about and I’ve heard and felt the hype these puppies produce. While you can’t get that dropped Z production from these, everything above that genre is readily accessible to achieve sonically with the Greenback speakers in play. So much can be said and praised about them but ultimately until you’ve tried them in person you can’t truly hear the bliss that they produce. Utube does an injustice to these through their compression of video audio so don’t knock till you’ve tried it. I recommend these as a pair or mix with G12H-30s. Live it, try it!

Great sounding speakers! Fix perfect in my new Marshall cabinet. Great for any types of music. I highly recommend them, specially if your looking for EVH sound, probably because he used same ones. Thank you as always AMS!

Instant gratification in my 2x12! The speakers sounded better than expected out of the box, I can only guess they will get better once the break-in is complete.
I knew they would sound good, it just surprised me that they didn't have the typical "New Speaker" stiffness/harshness.
I can only give five stars at this point, so this is more of a review of the Green Backs fresh from the factory box!

Overall this is my favorite Celestion speaker. I am running through a boutique Swart MOD 84 VOX inspired 15-watt amp and this speaker works perfectly! It sounds great clean with chimey and sparkling highs. Very articulate and touch sensitive. When overdriven it has the characteristic velvety smooth mids and tight bass. This is the sound of mid 60s through the 70s Rock and British Blues. AMS has great deals and payment plans to help musicians of all kinds. AMS shipped quickly. Buy one you won’t be disappointed if this is the sound you are after!

I bought a Vox AC15C1 before the Alnico Blue was available as a factory option. Eventually I decided to replace the G12M Greenback with an Alni co Blue, and replace the factory Celestion 70 80's in my Vox AC30VR with Greenbacks. Ordered one more from AMS, installed them, and the improvement in tone is significant!

I was a bit skeptical because now they are made in China, but believe it or not I have a quad of made in England Greenbacks in my other 412 and they sound identical after break in.
To early to tell. Only had them a month now!!

This speaker is a true rocker. It gives dirty gritty distortion even at low levels. It can also give you a nice sustained distortion, but why would you want that? It's a little pricey, but well worth the money.
